Hi, I am a 50 year Alaska resident living up in North Pole, just east of Fairbanks. Just became your 436th subscriber. My wife and I are followers of Jesus and love what he has created here in Alaska. I wish you well as you discover our amazing state and see why it is so unique. Best to you, Dave and BJ

Beautiful property! I was reminded of a scripture I have in my she-shed “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin….” Zach 4:10. I refer to it often for inspiration. Blessings!

This is Lee from Coffee Alaskian Adventure and Coffeehouseforge outside Willow. We use a small import fuel heater oil with a remote and timer. So outhouse is never cold during the winter, and a small 12v fan for circulation.

Thanks! Good advice. We will be back in July.

Suggestion - To keep the outhouse from smelling add a vent pipe from the top of toilet through the roof. Use blue board & cut out a toilet seat & it will always be warm to sit on. Just make sure to leave a lid when not in use. Also a small buddy heater in the corner works wonders for cold temperatures.🤓

I made ours like that at our recreational cabin. I built the outhouse with 2x6 walls and heat it with a propane light. I put the light close enough to the vent pipe that it creates a draft to suck the foul air out. It’s worked great for the last 20 years.

@@blacksprucecabinak A 20lb propane bottle lasts about 11 days. It’s an expense that is worth it to go out and hang the coat up in a warm outhouse.

New subscriber. Wife and I love the Flying Squirrel when we spent time in Talkeetna. We flew out of Talkeetna and landed on a glacier on Denali... highly recommend that. When will you two be moving there full time?
@blacksprucecabinak Жыл бұрын
Thanks. We are scheduled to take that flight this summer. It will be a few years before we are there full time. We still need to build our cabin.
