I used to rely on Torrance Transit in 2021-2022 and mannn the service was horrible! The 9 had a 1.5 hour regular schedule gap for such a useful route getting to Lomita!!! The city council also kept trying to kneecap the Metro K/C Line expansion. They were very much encouraged into building their new transit center by metro lmao. The K is supposed to expand to there…. around 2032

This was cool to watch! I'm thinking of possibly visiting Detroit sometime in the next year, and if I do I'll be sure to check out both of these rail systems. Everyone gives the People Mover shit but some rail is better than no rail, and honestly I'm more skeptical of the Q Line as I have a low opinion of streetcars in general. I guess I'll find out for myself when I go.

The frustrating thing is that 1) LA Metro cedes some areas to local transit systems and 2) local transit systems run infrequently. I live in Hollywood without a car. I'd like to get to Burbank every so often. You'd think there'd be a link between those 2 areas. But in the past, it's taken me 2 hours each way (via Red Line, and an LA Metro bus that runs almost hourly). I haven't tried to get BurbankBus. I'd also like to go to Manhattan Beach, but that area is only served by Beach City Transit, which runs every 45 minutes. So a roundtrip from Hollywood to Manhattan Beach can take like 5 hours.

After watching Nick Andert (nandert on here) and seeing his long but well-made videos on the LA area where he lives, I see that local government is rife in Southern California, even more than in New Jersey or New England where townships are usually more powerful than counties. It's why there are 45 different systems, and realistically there should be maybe 6 or 7 (three of those being LA County, LA City, and Orange County). I am thankful (!) that my area only has... one regional-ish system (Metrobus), my local county system (Ride-On), one in the county next door (The Bus, barely), and five across the river (Fairfax Connector, Prince William OMNI, Loudoun Transit, Alexandria DASH, Arlington ART). But the quality of a few of those (The Bus, OMNI, Loudoun) is not as extensive as the others.

Ok so don't qoute me persislly. But lordsburg is probably one of the safest towns out here. 75% is government from town cops, state patrol, border patrol, way stations, teachers, it use to be booming but in the 90s they closed the smelter south of lordsburg. The other 25% lives off the government. Do no speed through on the highway you will get pulled over. Unfortunately when the town became smaller everyone who knows how to run a business left, and left it to no so smart people, the town water you don't want to drink cause about 20 years ago the water testing person left and never was replaced. That said this vally sets on alot of water. It would be a great place for a new city to be developed. The locals don't want people knowing about the good they talk it down and slowly kill there down while trying to keep people out. But you have hunting everywhere nation forest everywhere and everything is 2 hours away to mayjor cities. The town has a hard time running business because the people who don't work for the government don't want to work. However I welcome all to come and start business and redevelop this place. There was a reason why this place was created back in the day.

Right from the beginning when you were stuck waiting with two halves of a bagel and nothing else that should have been an omen of what's to come. Maybe in the future you can try again to catch the remaining 5, er, 6, er (who knows if there'll be more in the future). Great job making it through all that. Also, DJ Petesake did those mad dashes with you while carrying that bike? Does he haul fridges for his regular job or something?

As someone who lives in El Monte, I've never once thought about why El Monte transit isn't connected to the El Monte Trolley system lol good point though. Also to get out from where you were at you have to go down the stairs/escalator and back up the stairs/escalator directly across yeah it's not obvious from the outside but it is what it is.

I don’t know how you did it, but you did it. Mostly. I don’t think I would ever do this experimental even if I try to. Wish we can invest in more on our bus system, including what someone said: where we can have a one-transit oriented bus system for the LA County. Also, yes, we have the Lawndale Beat, and I have seen their buses whenever I operate the 40. One more thing: I, too, am a public transit activist _and_ a Ⓜ️ 🚊 operator, operate the 🅰️ Line. I would’ve helped you out…Like the PVPTA, for instance.
