It was a huge pain in the ass to do the small ones with the pins. The large ones are easy. I just realised I have an internal circlip removal tool that would be perfect for spreading small ORings. The correct tool is called “spreaders”. I’m not going to buy the correct tool because it’s not a common job. But I will see if the circlip tool works

Coming from a 27 speed MTB I was sceptical going to 9 speed. So I did the math. Realised I don’t use granny gear on any hill / ramp while commuting. When climbing I need around 1:1 FDR, and when descending I need about 3.4:1 final drive ratio. Having a dinner plate cassette means I have more gears than I need when climbing and the top tallest 9th gear is like 11T , so 42/11 is insanely quick going downhill, I can hardly push that. I’ll ride it some more over the next couple weeks and see what I find, but not having to think about shifting into a larger chainring is quite nice

The tool goes inside the bearing and spreads three prongs so it has a grip. Then the tool pushes on the engine case or pulls in the bearing, however you want to look at it. Eventually the bearing is free

Yeah this is a great touring car. Just need to work on the idle gap and fine tune the 2 speed shift point. The handling is amazing. But can’t get to the idle gap screw without removing the engine!!! So annoying
