Disable it to save fuel. Restarting engine costs you 7 seconds of fuel. Also saves your engine components like battery alternator starter motor etc. but most importantly it saves your anxiety and sanity

@@inzp3ctor7 seconds is the worst case scenario. The battery (with an additional supercapacitor in Mazda's case), alternator and starter are designed for such intensive work. Once the engine is warmed up, it doesn't need much power to start. Besides, have you ever worried about the wiper motor suffering in the rain? Probably not, and yet it works hard to turn on and off. The driver can easily control whether the motor stops and when it starts with his right foot. So by watching what's going on around you, you always have plenty of time to start the engine and keep the car moving smoothly. Unless, of course, you're the kind of driver who needs to be honked at to let you know the green light is on 😀 So I still find it hard to understand why anyone would want to completely deprive themselves of the opportunity to save fuel and the planet. A much better idea is to buy a Stop&Start switch on Aliexpress or eBay that looks like the original, but always remembers its last state.

in addition to fuel wastage at roundabouts where you stop for 0.5 to 1 second as you creep up to the intersections its also very back for your spark plugs and shortens their lifespan as well. but putting the earth dreams and skyactiv marketing to the side lets not forget the main reason is that its a pain in the ass to have your engine stop on you as you approach the roundabout and expect to be able to go an cant. or even worse, when you are doing a three point turn on a main road and the engine stops on you while cars are coming. nightmware! i am finally enjoying my mazda now and am even thinking about which mazda i will get next now that i know how easy it is to disable this useless feature.
