The ICE design is dead! It has long reached the end of it's development potential, there is nothing else that can be eeked out of it Electric drive trains on the other hand has plenty of room for development There are simply too many inherent flaws that cannot be engineered out of the internal combustion engine Today's ice vehicles has so so many systems in it to help overcome the flaws * Excess Heat * Excess internal friction * Excess noise * Excess Vibration * Blowby gasses * Narrow power band * Too much maintenance * too many moving parts * Much more

Just over 50 psi compression is much too little compression for that bike to start,if ya had a clue you would know that.

Is the next iteration a hybrid piston with aluminum head and carbon fiber skirts for light weight and higher revs?

But late to the party here but what off you moulded the piston with an alginate or using a wax mould and then you can melt the wax out of the piston shape maybe you could end up a smoother piston
@Swampkiller1Tv2 күн бұрын
Maybe u should of melted it all off or made it so u didn’t need to cut it apart

I saw a video of this guy who 3d printed a rocket engine (mini) but the material was put into a kiln and it melted into a metal part. Would be cool to see that thrown into an engine after some light polishing

Compression didn't work well for the submersible made of carbon fiber. Let's see whathappens.

You should print one out of the titanium core filament

I challenge you to try this again, but thermal coat the whole piston, or just the area that melted, and see how long it lasts.

Use PETG or something with a higher heat tolerance. PLA melts in cars, there’s no way it would survive this

3D printed parts get smaller after it cools so making the piston bigger than normal is the better option

The thing is with 3d printing is that the print isn't full printed bc of the air gaps in the print

you should cerakote the top of the piston to reflect the heat away from it. they have a coating just for that
