Do you have a way of measuring the peak brightness of these monitors in hdr? Would like to know how it compares to other oleds in that respect.

I don't have a measuring tool for peak brightness but I'll say that it gets about as bright in HDR as the AW3225QF.
@AdbeelMark3 сағат бұрын
@TaylorBrauer ok thank you for the reply. The only thing that makes me apprehensive about the innocn oleds is that I am not sure they have a peak 1000 mode for their qd oled ultrawide or a mode that hits at least 600-700 nits on this 240hz w oled.
@TaylorBrauer35 минут бұрын
@@AdbeelMark I can't speak to the innocn qd oled but this monitor in comparison to Alienware's QD OLED I can say they both look really good. I wouldn't chase the numbers too much as HDR looks really good on the innocn. I would perhaps consider the warranty as the more important factor. Of course, the best way to know for sure is to try to see OLEDs in person at your local retailer.

The only precaution I take is limiting charge to 80%. Other than that, I use it without concern for the battery health. Since 2021, when I got the laptop, I'm at 354 battery cycles and 84% max capacity. The battery still lasts me several hours.

It seems Windows sometimes doesn't report nits reliably. So, I wouldn't take that reading too seriously. As for HDR certification, I'm not really sure what that means. The HDR works which is certificaiton enough for me. I'd recommend to keep trying different settings of HDR and find the one that looks best and not read into the numbers too much.

I've heard people warn against this monitor because of DSC. If I understand correctly on PC the only thing this means is I wont be able to use DSR/DLDSR to make the resolution higher than 4k with AI in games and videos? What do you lose versus a monitor with 2.1 diplay port?
@TaylorBrauer13 күн бұрын
Right, DSC will conflict with those upscalers. However, this is a 32" panel at 4K which means t's incredibly sharp. Displayport 2.1 has higher throughput which comes in handy if you want to dasiy chain multiple high resolution screens. Imo, this is an incredibly niche feature as most monitors don't support daisy chaining. Are you missing much with DSC over DP 2.1? Most certainly not.

I would buy this monitor for one reason alone, regardless of the drawbacks: I own a 27 inch Thunderbolt Display which came out in 2011. I've been rocking this thing for years and years and it is even today a very solid competitor to many modern monitors, because the image quality and sound alone are hard to beat. I use it with an M1 with a thunderbolt adapter, and It performs like brand new over a decade later. So for its predecessor to be that good of a product I believe the Studio Display is it's only true replacement.
