I know a guy who was camping and had a similar experience except it was at night.

@@sunshinestatebushcrafter3049 There sure are a lot of interesting critters out there, and no shortage of eerie encounters if you wander around solo. Especially at night. I do find it much easier to sight Florida panthers, bobcats, and the occasional non-native jaguarundi when I’m out on my own.

How’d the new mosquito netting work ?
@floridawoodlore47042 ай бұрын
@@FloridaManPat this is my old netting. I did this trip shortly after our island trip. It worked fine here because there weren’t any noseeums. I did use the new nylon tight weave netting on the second island trip on noseeum island, and it worked great. None got through. But they bit relentlessly every minute out of the hammock.

This is a Council Tool Wood-Craft Camp Carver. It is incredibly useful and versatile. When I have this around, I find it even replaces tasks I would use a knife for. Council Tool also sells a straight-handle version, which I believe makes it even more versatile than the curved handle version, which I use. For a hand axe, this is my go-to, although I also use and very much appreciate the 19inch Wood-Craft Pack Axe, which is a bit heftier, and therefore arguably a bit better at processing wood.

I was being stalked by Putin. It came from the trees unexpectedly with a massive bone to pick. I did not know what to do but surrender was not an option. It pummeled me to the ground as though my existence meant nothing to it. Then, it grabbed me and told me I was going to be okay; I did not believe it. It dragged me into a wooded area and pulled my pants down and slid its massive Putin in my sweet breadbasket. I cried for help. A squirrel scurried by and scolded Putin; all Putin did was laugh in amusement. It was a bad day.
