I cant remember if these have a drain plug. A lot don't. If not it is drain fill and drive for a few hundred miles then drain fill again until the fluid is all clean when checked before a third or even forth drain and refill. You also could pull trans and pull converter to tip it around to get as much as possible out.

The Intake tube goes threw the fender and into the front wheel well. This will give better cooler air in my option and why I switched back to just a factory airbox with a fitted K&N. There is a tone of heat in the engine bay and a cold air intake would be fine if tubes where used to get it down in the wheel well.

Yes. I would recommend supporting the engine. Failure to do so could be expensive and dangerous. Damage to the engine mounts would likely be the lest of the issues. As always I point to the service manual as the best way to do any project correctly and safely even if i do not fallow it myself sometimes.😁

Do you guys know where I can find a diagram key showing which solenoids control which shifts? I replaced the fluid with the correct fluid. I still get a hard into first and a delayed engagement in reverse and drive. I feel pretty good about the fill but may try to add more fluid of needed.

Thanks for this video. So my main problem was I was unable to get enough ATF fluid into the car. I was not using a lift but used a level on the transmission pan. But I went with your specs of how much atf the car should take and now it rides normally again.

I've been procrastinating changing my air filters for the past 2 years but am doing so along with some damaged front grille and spoiler trim pieces and you are correct all those myriad of screws need to be removed to access the filter boxes. Not even going to bother to count them but a battery powered wrench is mucho helpful. And I agree you don't have to remove the front wheels to get to necessary screws. Also for anyone doing what I am with the grille trim, be careful , ie slow, as the thread bosses are very fragile! Had to order a new surround...

I have replace them in BMWs with ZF boxes and it is usually not to bad. Just find a manual and fallow it closely. I always use a factory manual. Some are hard to get but these XKs are not hard at at all. Make sure you run the car at idle go thru the gears slowly to prime them all. Do this before you drive off to test and go easy on the test drive. You don't want to risk slamming gears.

And do check your fluid level after priming and test drive. Low fluid can cause delayed and or hard shifting.

That is exactly what it is. It is for reducing any chance arcing / sparking away from the fuel system.

can Valvoline max atf be used in olace of the febi. I had a 2000 Mercedes and the Valvoline Max worked just right. I was told these Jags have a Mercedes transmission. I habe a 2001 XJ8 and I'm assuming that the procedirw will be quite similar. Would you agree?

This is the ZF with a green tag on the side of the transmission. I have not seen anything that would suggest the use of any other fluid types would be safe. See the 2 minute mark I speak of this.

I have the same problem, after key on fuel pump prime, fuel pressure drop to 5psi , car crank but not start, I bought another fuel pressure regulator , hope fix the problem, thanks for the video

That battery has to be vented. If it does not have a vent hole to fit the L connecter to the vent tube its the wrong battery. If there is no vent hose you need a vent kit. In the US spec cars there is a rubber grommet with a hole in it above right the positive cable that vents to the outside.

Very good video and explanations. What I would do next is drain and fill the pan again, after about a week of normal driving. Than again about two months down the road. The fluid and transmission should be in good shape by then.

Thanks for the clear instructions! Just bought one of these with 110K and wow, was that transmission fluid nasty looking. Magnets were covered in goop as well. Had to be factory original making it 23 year old fluid - at least it didn't smell burnt. Took 5.5 qts. to get to the recommended stream coming out with 40 deg C at the pan. I think I'll do at least a couple of cold drain and fills on a yearly schedule as a follow-up.

Hi Weekend Warrior I have 2016 Type R So far no issues with O2 sensors But I heard 10 year extended warranty Just make sure they don’t do software update because I heard it takes away crackles and pops when exhaust button bypass is pressed Please do more maintenance videos for the F Type please Your oil change and maintenance video was super thorough Maybe transfer case and differential oil changes? I used a similar filter/reg in my new EFI ZZ6 and suspect low fuel pressure causing me issues. Only get it going with help of Carb cleaner; sure its not too much fuel causing the hard starts. thanks for putting this together to help me better understand this filter regulator.

My corvette regulator reads 58 psi when it primes, 70 psi at idle for my Ls swap and I think it’s causing my issue with multiple cylinder Misfire

It is possible, if it is getting to much or to little fuel. That being said LS swaps can be very different from one to the next. If you don't have the tech and or info for diagnosing and tuning it I suggest getting it or some help before a major issue is created. Best of luck.

@@weekendwarriorgarage4402 I replaced the regulator and pressures are normal,also borrowed a snap on scanner and was able to see if all my injectors are good,and they are. but for some reason the fuel trim is disabled and the computer is showing 4 o2 sensors,when I only have two. But the guy I had give me a base tune must not deleted the back O2s

Tampons hold about 2 Teaspoons for regular. I think it's worth a try.

Always use what the manufacturer specifies. Mixing fluids can get ugly as well.

Thanks for sharing this. Im gonna try have a go myself this week. Its in such a tight space and ita impossible to get a wrench in there. I like your tip to use the cam shaped socket tool and tap it with a hammer to loosen the old one out and tighten up the new one. Is yours still working ok?

Good thing I watched this video! I was dealing on a car in Denver (I'm in New Hampshire), looks beautiful inside and out but the underside was rough, air dam and plastic panels chewed up. It had 29,000 miles on it, looked like it had been down some rough dirt roads. Getting those pics saved me lots of money!

Scariest thing I have ever done is by a car over the internet and phone. My point for anyone doing this is make them work for that sale. Make them send you all sorts of pictures and videos with sound Driving videos and proof of cold starts. In this day and age there is no reason why they cant send good high rez images and videos with good sound.
