XK8 Driveshaft Removal

I need to replace the pinion seal on my 2000 XK8. Didn’t realize it took so much to pull the driveshaft. Looks like it has to go to the repair station. Ugghhh.

The pinion seal is tricky due to the pinion has to come out. This is one of the more precise jobs to do. The reinstallation, setup and torque of the pinion has to be spot on or damage will be inevitable. Be sure you get manuals and or make sure the tech is good.

this is not drive shaft , is propshaft nuget

Driveshaft and propeller shaft are the same thing just different terms. This may help. "The term drive shaft was used in the mid-19th century for the first time. In 1861 Watkins and Bryson patented the term for a mowing machine where the shaft was used to transmit power from the wheels of the mowing machine to the cutting machine using a gear train. In the 1890s the term drive shaft became quite common. In the year 1899 Bukey used this term for power transmission from wheel to the driven machinery using universal joints. in the Jaguar workshop manual its called a drive shaft, look it up !
