Hey! I’ve commented on one of your other videos before…I’m the guy from Saginaw lol. But just came to say that your content is amazing, and that food looked fire!!! Almost caught the Holy Ghost just looking at it 😂😂 Thanks so much for showcasing how beautiful Michigan is! I’m going to keep spreading the word and sharing your channel! Your character shines through the camera, and you can tell that you’re truly a good person who is passionate about this! Keep up the amazing work and continue to stay safe!

Thank you for sharing your experiences, thoughts, and perspective. As an introvert who loves nature, I don't think there is anything "weird" at all about going out there solo. I am a 40 year old dad who has never done any solo camping in my life, I really respect your courage to jump in and just try it / learn as you go. Really admirable, thanks for documenting the process and showing us what can be done!

Humm looks like you camp at the same spot all the time 5 minutes from your home, I want to see some real adventure camping next time

Dinner looked amazing! I’m sure someone has already asked it, but how do you deal with the leftovers? Do you just bring a bunch of Tupperware to transport it home? Looks like you’d have awesome leftovers for days!

You’re going to attract all the wildlife in the area. I’m over here salivating. I’m waiting for my invite. I’m good at clean up, and I know all that had to be heavy carrying out there, without implying that you can’t, which you clearly can, I can be your mule too for a meal like that. 👍🏾💪🏾

Thankyou for the memory. I live in Washington State now but born near Detroit. I might share with you photos from my solo motorcycle camping trip to this same spot in 1978. I use to fish that lake.

For food prep a bushcraft knife isn’t ideal. Just grab an Opinel knife. The thin blade slices beautifully and they’re inexpensive.

Enjoyable videologue and gentle commentary by an outdoors woman without pretense. The New Zealand "bush" or woodland here is so very different from the American woodland.

Great video. Your food looks delicious! You have a open faced ( spinning reel) fishing reel. If you have or were to buy a closed face ( spincasting reel) that might be easier for you as you just push the button on the back of the reel and let go of it halfway through your cast . With your reel , reel it in a little to make sure the bail is in the closed position and feed the line under the bail and then through the fishing pole guides. To cast with your open face reel place your hand on the pole so it is centered where the reel is mounted to the pole and with your index finger pinch ( hold) the line against the pole. Open the bail. When you are halfway through your cast let go of the line with your finger. When your done with your cast reel it in a little so the bail will flip back to it's usual position. The usual location for the drag is in the back . If you pull on your line the drad should be set so that the line will come out slowly before the breaking point of the line on your reel. It might help to watch " How to cast a spinning reel" on KZbin. Also you can tie a lead weigh on your line and practice cast in your yard ( not near trees 😊) . Practice casting will help keeping you out of snags.
