My guess is that with the shorter run time and the faster charging, that the knock off is a lower amperage than advertised.

Adapters have been around for awhile. I have plenty of Ridgid max 4,6 and & 8ah batteries. I use the Ridgid to Dewalt and the Ridgid to Ryobi adapters I bought from eBay/amazon. I much more prefer sticking with a OEM battery with the best warranty and using adapters on them. I think we live in the are of great and dumb tools. I figure in a few more years tools will reject non OEM batteries under warranty issues but it will just be greed from the tool companies.

You made the same mistake with the recip saw that VCG Construction did. In order to switch modes, you have to remove the battery, switch modes, then reinstall the battery.

You need to keep in mind when using the system and charging it at the same time. Let's say you are using the unit to run some lights and charge a laptop. let's say it's using 40 watts and you have 100-watt solar panel. You will be charging the unit with 60 watts while the other 40watts is being used by your laptop and lights. The 2ed big question that everyone should be asking next to " what can the unit power "? is how fast can it charger up from 0%? Thats one question people never ask and find out later, that no matter how many solar panels you hookup to it. it will take a long time to charge. Theres units out there like "My Patriot solar generator", That will take close to 2 days in perfect weather condition to charge up. But they don't tell you that and most people don't ask.

That is a very cool idea. I have a Craftsman fan and mitersaw that I do not have any batteries for. The tools were stupid cheap on sale. The solution was to use battery adapters that accept DeWalt batteries. This takes that concept one step further.

Just my personal experience, but I have had really bad luck with the aftermarket batteries. I bought 4 about a year ago, and only one of them works correctly. The small 1.5 Ah that came with my drill still works great. I'm going with the brand name from now on.

Bought a Cub Cadet 3x snowblower and goes through snow like butter melting. Had it for about 15 years still like brand new and had deep snows about some 3’ or higher here in WV and no problem getting driveway cleared and neighbors too. I will stick to my electric start gasoline Cub Cadet over a battery one.

My gas powered Tecumseh snowblowers would make that look like a snack. Yes these do work but as others said if you want to play with the big dogs you bring out the gas machines.
@Helikzhan-s7p4 күн бұрын
A three stage gas thrower is going to have no difficulty chewing through that. It eats even the hardened stuff left over from the plows. I like battery equipment but you need to be careful on what you buy that is battery operated. Circular saws, lawn mowers and snow throwers can be sketchy.
@rickrudolf41684 күн бұрын
I can appreciate your respect of our environment and going electric however sell it and buy a real gas machine like an ariens Husqvarna or honda.

That thing wouldn't run longer than 10 minutes in ND where temperatures typically get -30. Hell, you weren't even wearing gloves! In ND, that's spring weather. But hey, I'm sure from where you are, your machine will do the job for you.

That seems great for a small width, electric blower. My 1965 Ariens (yep.. 60 years old.. same year I was born) would also blow through that... likely a bit quicker. It has tire chains and it weighs so much that it's like it is clamped to the ground. I think the future is likely electric. But.. for the gas giants like mine.. I won't soon be replacing it with electric. Electric is very unlikely to ever see 60 years of service so that "disposability" is strange to me. I also have a smaller, 1990 Toro blower. It's likely the Ryobi & that Toro have similar capabilities. But.. again, 35 years old.. still going.
