You know, for as much as I've always heard people make fun of The Hexer, when I finally watched it I really realized just how badly the 'friendship' between Jaskier and Geralt was handled by Netflix. It's so unequal and borderline toxic, whereas in The Hexer you can actually see the genuine affection, even when Geralt is teasing Jaskier and Jaskier is being his normal outrageous self. It's really a shame they couldn't do a better job with these characters, this show had so much potential.

If you think about it, Tolkien did have the tendency of unceremoniously just killing mothers. Hell, some mothers were never given names or backstories, including Legolas' mother

I think to connect to the vague magic in the GOT world it would be cool if it's revealed eventually that the targaryens were cursed by someone they conquered when they took over.the curse of madness but only when on the westeros land . Danny straddled the line between madness and heroics before she went to westeros because she inherented the madness so she always had the hint of madness no matter where she was but she always came out as the hero. But when she went to westeros the curse grew stronger..otherwise it's stupid that she alway managed to control herself for so long until she went to westeros and she becomes a full blown nut case..I think a curse connects well to past mad targaryen and explains why she went from someone that hated to kill to a blood lustfull psycho.

It isn't better than the 1st one. Fights are bigger, entirely the movie is bigger on scale.... acting is the greatest thing here. Story is similar but notsame but it still works. So 8/10

I’m watching the series now for the first time and one thing that I have thought is that there is some fourth dimension stuff at play that could explain why we can’t see the girl on the tapes. After seeing her panicked physics talk explaining the forth dimension I think I might be right. Would explain a lot and the pieces are there for it to be plausible. I have a lot more theories only up to episode four at this point but I’d have to make a video myself to explain them all lol

When I watched it, I basically thought ”wtf is this crap?” for the first 15-20 minutes. Several acting performances didn’t feel up to par and I overall didn’t like the cinematography, so I was skeptical to say the least. Then when she used the voice for the first time, I burst out laughing like wtf was that?😂. It sounded so flat and weak compared to the movies. Having said that, I got more interested as the episode progressed, and I will give the remaining episodes a chance. And I should mention that just before I watched it I saw two masterpieces - Dune movies and The penguin series, so the bar was set very high.

I think it boils down to Alicent feeling jealousy and Rhaenyra feeling betrayal. Rhaenyra is a free spirit, strong-willed, who pushes back against the sexist social expectations placed on her. Alicent is more passive, honors duty above progressiveness, and her faith. She believes that if she does whats expected of her, all will turn out well. Aemma believed the same, having all those pregnancies for Viserys and telling Rhaenyra that birth is a woman's battlefield. Ultimately, that mindset caused them both to suffer. Alicent is jealous, because Rhaenyra doesn't follow the patriarchal standards, because she wasn't forced to marry and have the kids of an old man as a teenager, and because her status as princess gives her more freedom to do as she pleases. Rhaenyra feels betrayed by Alicent, because after a lifetime of being ignored by her father due to her gender and losing her mother due to her father's obsession with getting a male heir, Alicent swoops in and marries her father. In her eyes, Alicent could have technically chosen to say no. I mean, how would you feel if your best friend married your dad right after your mom died? Plus, Alicent shames Rhaenyra and upholds the standards that oppress them both as women, trying to get Rhaenyra to confess about losing her virginity so she can tell the hand and the king. Then, after having kids with Viserys, Alicent tries to place her children on the throne, further betraying her, and insinuating that Rhaenyra would kill her children just to get the throne. Alicent is jealous of Rhaenyra's privilege and courage to break convention, because she didnt suffer like Alicent did. Rhaenyra feels betrayed by her friend shaming her, marrying her father and trying to take away her throne, because Alicent supports the ideals that caused their suffering.

Yeah the dance of dragons reads more like a history book than a story. So the book isn't meant to be seen as accurate. With many of the retellings being biased, like fucking mushroom makes some of the wildest takes anyone has seen. And a lot of it was told by people who were pro green and GRRM doesn't really put anime powerscaling in the books. The best fighters are simply chosen vy reputation. So, who was the greatest fighter can be quite subjective. But one thing that isn't is Cregan, who passed his prime fought head to head with the Dragon knight who reputation wise is an equal to Selmy and second only to the sword of the morning. That feat alone puts him above everyone here. Though sometimes that reputation system can be weird. A 17 year old Ned "killed" Arthur the greatest fighter in the history of westeros, told the king to take a hike and disappeared in his own kingdom not showing his prowess for years. It's no wonder Jaime sought his respect, in westeros Ned must be seen as God.

Oh, the realities of producing a tv series over several years… I‘ve seen her in some other shows and while I‘ve honestly never been a fan of her and often didn’t like the characters she played, I thought she was okay and Bronwyn was a decent character. I would have preferred to see her recast and have the character continue In a more meaningful way, since they obviously planned something tragic for these two down the line. Alas, let’s see where this goes…

1. I think the show made the mistake of "depoliticizing" the plot, sometimes reducing it to a simple family conflict. Thus, Rhaenyra is named heir for sentimental reasons, and the Greens are presented (or at least perceived) as "power hungry". In short, everything is reduced to moral questions, whereas I think that analyzing Martin's work from a moral perspective has not the slightest interest. If the Hightowers defend Aegon, it is not because they are "greedier" but simply because it corresponds to their political interest. And if we are interested in the political aspect of the conflict, we can take a more objective look. 2. I think there is a form of hypocrisy among a certain number of viewers. They wrongly equate Rhaenyra with a "new Daenerys", although the two characters have absolutely nothing in common apart from their blonde hair. They therefore decide to more or less consciously ignore all of Rhaenyra's faults to concentrate on those of the Greens, the main criticism coming back to them is their so-called "thirst for power". Why is this hypocritical? Because the thirst for power is not the prerogative of the Greens. If the Targaryens used dragons to enslave an entire continent, it's because they like power a little bit... 3. There is a reason that has to do with the characters themselves. Daemon plays the warrior, Rhaenyra the princess. Conversely, Alicent plays the stepmother, Otto the minister. Do you see what I mean? Certain stereotypical representations are anchored in the depths of our minds since childhood. Unconsciously, it's as if we were pitting Cinderella and her prince against the stepmother of Snow White and Jafar... On the one hand, the Blacks are associated with figures who embody heroism, on the other, the Greens with figures perceived as antagonistic. It works by cliché, but let's not forget that nothing is stronger than a bias of the mind. 4. I think the majority of the public is symbolically attached to House Targaryen, out of loyalty to the original show. However, the Greens are initially embodied by Otto and Alicent, not only foreign to House Targaryen, but also from a house relatively little known to non-readers. If Otto and Alicent had been from House Stark and done the exact same thing, I bet what you want the Greens would have been much more popular.

It was somehow satisfying to watch a bullied child get his revenge. I don't know about dragons, obviously, but I think that Vhagar is the dragon equivalent of a grumpy old boss mare. Other dragons and humans fear her, but once You won her to Your side, she will do everything for You. Unfortunately sometimes thinking she knows better what's best for You. Also, she just didn't have it that that bratty little dragon child dared to question her authority by spitting fire at her.

They went with the ladder and chose a stupid reason as it doesn't line up with how poison works. Poison acts fast, especially one that mixes with blood. It does not allow you to get better than worse. Why would an army use the second one? No army would want enemy soldiers to continue fighting. Come up with a better reason.
