Whoa, few years on this vid. I recently put a 175 on a stock 3 spoke gs500 mag. Only problem is the rims 100mm wide. So I found a GSX rear wheel that 5.5" wide. This'll relax that 175 and It'll look it's width and not be so high. I need to find a 28mm O.D. axle assembly now. I might just get a pipe with them dimensions and make it a shim.

Just done mine but had to take apart as I had no rebound damping after assembly. Found a manual online and it states damper rod nut needs to be set 11mm from top of thread and NOT all the way down. Did this and all O.K.
@brucesmotorcycleshop37292 ай бұрын
@geoffrogers4549 You usually want to set the lock nut all the way down on the top treaded part of the shaft, then adjust the number of clicks you want on your rebound adjuster on the top cap, usually 12 to 14 clicks in from all the way out. This will set the hight where your topcap will sit on the shaft. Then you screw the cap on gently and back up the lock nut against the cap and tighten them together. You'll then be able to back up the rebound screw 12 or 14 clicks back and this will then be your adjustment possibility.

@@brucesmotorcycleshop3729 Thanks, I guess setting to 11mm as per the manual has a similar effect. All sorted now and your video gave me the confidence to do it myself and save £££££££`s

So when you clean the carbs initially did you put a full service kit on them or just change the float bowl gaskets ? I’m asking as I have just picked up an 1100 had supposedly the calves cleaned, but I’ve got a few leak from somewhere but speaking to the bloke that cleaned them he didn’t use any new parts

Actually you CAN back up the air box by unbolting it then pulling it back with a ratchet strap. You’ll gain a centimeter or two, which is huge in this instance.

Very well presented.. I'm thinking about using the fork caps from a zxr1100 on my sprint st to allow the separate adjustment of damping and preload.. Either that or just use emulators without cartridge. I liked your light heated jokes and humility. Very down to earth to watch. I am rebuilding my forks for the first time. I'm thinking that it's.. bush not bushing so you're correct. I converted my 955 sprint to a 1050 cc sprint

Thereare four nipples on has a pipe on it which i believe goes to the petrol tank are the other three just capped off with the black covers or are there more pipes to go onto somewhere else. Thanks, great videos by the way.Mick

Hi, it's been a while honestly so I'm not too sure but I think after tacking the carbs out and you better put them back on before installing the carbs back as there is very little place to do that with them in place...
