He is half Taishanese and half Hakka. 1/2 台山人 1/2 客家人. It would be interesting to do a video comparing how similar Hakka and Taishanese are. Surprising that a lot of pronounciation is same between the 2. 妹妹 moi moi in both Hakka and Taishanese but in Cantonese it’s Mui Mui. Also counting is similar yit ngi sam si ng luk tit bat giu sip in Taishanese.

In the Netherlands many Cantonese send their children to mandarin schools on Saturdays. It used to be Cantonese. They will regret it. Just like old Hakka people do now. They were always looking down on their own language. The results speaks for itself. Within a generation Hakka will be gone.

I think they are not Cantonese. They are most probably Hakka in origin
