So glad I survived the Halloween month and we’re now into Noirvember - one of my favourite genres. If you’re doing one of your live streams that would be a fun topic for the month perhaps. By the way, Murder by Contract is excellent and I think it has only be released on Blu-Ray in the U.K. on the Indicator label. Another sale just started here with 50% off some Warner Archive blu-rays so I thought it fitting to get some more Noir discs - On Dangerous Ground, Possessed, The Set-Up to name a few. November is quite the month for sales it seems with companies eager to push things onto us earlier and earlier as each year goes by. A big high five to Jessie for completing those delightful puzzles. I have such lovely memories of doing them with my nan when I was growing up. Enjoy your week. All the best to both of you.

The special features on both the Val Lewton double feature and Pandora’s Box are exceptionally good. I really enjoyed all of that extra content and will probably re-watch them over and over again. Though we don’t have the Criterion sales here in Canada, I woke up this morning, checked my amazon wish list and noticed that Vampyr (Criterion) had shot down in price overnight so I snatched it up. That tends to randomly happen with Criterion titles on amazon here, so I always keep an eye out.

We’re hopeful of a new Criterion sale soon here but it looks like it’s going to be only a select few titles. The Indicator sale started today which has some great stuff. They mainly do Blu-ray only, and like you, we focus more on those than 4K, unless it’s a must have favourite of ours. Also, our 4K player pulls some magic as far as upscaling goes, probably the best I’ve seen, so the difference between the formats often comes down to HDR. We’ve been watching a lot of noir as it’s just so accessible as we’ve been tired from work. It’s such a wonderful genre. Regarding TV, the new Slow Horses series was great. Start with series one if you haven’t given it a try yet. It’s by far our best show in recent years. Bake Off is nice cozy TV too. The clocks went back an hour last Sunday and it’s starting to get quite chilly. Time to break out the slow cooker from storage as warming stews are often the order of the day this time of year. Best wishes to you both.
