Hi Simon! That's a great quality of life improvement right there. It still stuns me that Reximex and Kral won't put proper sized probes on the rifles. Benjamin rifles are superb in this regard but the others don't seem to bother.. it's only a minor nuisance but I won't lie Simon it does annoy me.

Another EXCELLENT review Dan! I love your no holds barred approach but honest opinion without ever being negative. Always telling us your 'niggles'. That's what I (we) want to hear. I was torn between a 'traditional' style of rifle like the PRETENSIS and a 'tactical' version with the same qualities. This ACCURA has it with I great price tag too! Might add this to my collection.

Great review of the Accura and the one of the Pretensis,liked how you were fair in giving both the good and bad points, even down to the minor niggles like the gaping hole for the filler point and gauge,lets face it a minor niggle for one could be major pita for another . Another great video my friend. These Reximex rifles are awesome rifles for the money and seem to be on a different level of fit and finish compared to other Turkish braands. Bought a Pretensis on the back of your review and it's my go to rifles that always puts a smile on my face.

Hi Stephen! They're excellent aren't they? They genuinely perform the same or outshoot the "big brands" I find and they're not that pellet fussy either. That stock too! I think Reximex owes it to us to make the Accura in a walnut stock.

Hi Dan, this gun looks a little like A Brocock Sniper. I am in the 6' realm too and went for an FX Crown FAC because the Brocock semi-bullpup's stock had a shorter length of pull. My FX Crown has a 700mm barrel and I run a 9" mod. on it. Yes it is long, but the longer barrel helps wi for longer air use, with the shrouded barrel and mod. all you hear is the action of the gun and the strike at the other end. I don't know if the longer barrel helps with accuracy, but I am able to put 10 Air Arms, Field , 18 grain through the same hole. I am also a fan of the Crossman premium 14 grain pellets. They are an underrated pellet with 10 shots well grouped, many through the same hole and under a 5p peice.

Hello mate! Great shooting and I agree with the Crosman's they're very underrated and well made usually with no damaged skirts. The Accura is very similar hopefully you could hear in the video there's very little muzzle report but just a "Ping" from the action.

I have to comment on the accuracy of this review. I bought a walnut accura with shortened barrel when they literally hit the shops unannounced, it was in front of me and i couldnt resist. Smoothness of action, totally agree, smoothest rifle I have for this function. Ive since rewatched this review of the larger pool cue version and cannot fault Dans focus points. Handling is slightly easier with the shorter version, adjustments dont exist with length of pull, so maybe not suited to a big Dan frame, but 2 stage realistic single stage is bang on point, and again bang on point to the fact that i as a hunter really like it ! Spitfire in my Lyra where great, but terrible in the Accura same as RWS Hobby, however once the barrel leaded in Hobby are damn decent and Spitfire are as good as AA Diablo, this is after more than 1000 shots however. Trust Big Dan, he tells the truth in reviews, and also fit a Hugget Snipe, its almost silent ! Accuracy is incredible on my 70m plinking range

I got the shorter barrel walnut accura, A-tec wave silencer, Beautiful gun, Bit low on power out of the box but a bit of research and that's sorted, Mine's sweet spot is about 170-110 Bar, I adjusted the trigger and got a decent first stage and a light short brake, Lovely gun for the price.

If that is shroud around the barrel is that cap around the bottle attached to it? So is the barrel free floating?

Hey Clanger! The cap around the bottle acts as a barrel band but it's easily removed but simply slacking off two grub screws either side of the band. With this done it should slide straight off.

@@clangerbasher I agree 100% clanger. To be fair barrel harmonics do make a difference but most of the time from my experience a free floating barrel is barely if any more accurate than with a band... but it does have the disadvantage that the barrel can easily lose zero.

Sorry for another comment. I've seen a few UK dudes port mod and add regulators to other rifles to make it more consistent and right up at 11.8 ft lbs . Do you think it's possible to do it to these ? Id love mine to be 11.8 consistent

Hey Air rifle bunnie! I'd be careful at 11.8.. depending on pellets that'll be hot. I believe these can be regulated the best thing to do is check Robert Lane's website as those are the ones I'd recommend.

Hi dan, I just got an accura walnut, the crono print out it came with said they used jsp exact diabolo 5.51 15.98gr and it was around 11.5 ftlbs, I ran it over the crono and it saw max 10.1 ftlb on excite hammers 14.66gr and max 10.8 ft lbs on cheap marksman 22 13.96gr, So im guessing it would probably show more on the heavier JSB pellets, in your opinion is this underpowered or a good safe tune? Ive ordered the jsb they used for their test so i can see if the print out is hot air lol, thanks.

Hey Coaldust! Try the JSB's, heavier pellets tend to give more power in PCP's and the JSB's will have softer skirts than the H&N's and Marksman pellets. If Marksman gave 10.8 I'd say it'd be a safe bet that JSB will be 11+ft-lbs all day long.

The holes that are going to the right is down to the quality of the card stock, all card has a little grain that you cannot see, if you shot the back of the offending target, you would possibly see the holes tearing to the left. I have noticed with these targets, every group seems a little raggier than it should, possibly try a heavier gsm? Great video by the way.

My Ultra SE loves both RWS Superfield and AA Field. The weights are exactly the same but out of my Ultra SE the RWS produce 10.3 ftlb whereas the AA produce 11.3ftlb. Exactly 1ftlb more energy from the AA Field which struck a chord after you comment about their thick skirts. Mystery solved. Mind you they are both blindingly accurate but the RWS are far cheaper. 😉

Exactly Steven. At the end of the day the difference is only around 25fps which is minimal when you're travelling at around 750fps anyways. Accuracy over power every day.

I'm going to have to add the new Wasps .177 in the red tins to my list of superb pellets. I decided to try them again after ditching them a long time ago as very inconsistent after the original Ely Wasps. These new ones are absolute tack drivers in all four of my .177 rifles, two Ultras (unregulated), Gunpower Shadow 2 (regulated) and a AR2079A HPA (regulated). Thanks for the recommendation, you are spot on and these are cheap. Next to try are .22 Wasps.

Well i bought the same rifle at full power (49j) and everything was perfect until the day i went to the range to shoot.The safety was NOT working.Rifle fires at safe and at fire. Now i have to send it back for repairs :( .The screw on the charging lever wasn't fully screwed and the action was not smooth but i fixed it . And last the rifle wasn't lubed at all . Just a little bit on the pellet probe .I lubed it and the action became pure buutter.The rifle is accurate with pellets and slugs and when the problem with the safety is fixed i think everything will be fine with the rifle. PLESE !!! if you are planning to buy Reximex Accura or Daystar (Pretenses UK market) check if the safety works before buying!!!!!

Personally any safety in front of the trigger is asking for trouble, you could catch the trigger while going to turn of or on the safety catch, much better to have the safety away from the trigger guard, so what if its a little bit harder to get to, inherently much safer, just my opinion, it's not rocket science,

This is terrible , Your tempting Me with PCPs and I'm almost sold , it's just so damn accurate especially for the money and the fact that it's not pellet fussy . Must resist , Pumping it up with a hand pump would be painful and back breaking , adding a refill tank is expensive . No Resist Resist , Springers are where it's really at , a pocket full of pellets and off We go nothing more needed . While I love my HW99S a PCP like this 1 is literally just same for going out shooting with how many shots it does, except instead of pellets you carry loaded mags

@@Zillawill Agreed, the PCPs have appeal , but the few I've tried left Me feeling dead , the challenge was not the same , and small as it is with a springer I missed the recoil . A PCP would make Me lazy , but for quick follow ups on the next Grey menace a PCP is probably a more effective tool .And the Reximex looks like a bargain for what's on offer .

Hi Desmond, this is an old review before the price changes. This is a Mk1 with the huge barrel, the Accura now has a shorter barrel with a walnut stock.
