Quite a sandbox! (joke) Have to look at the humans walking around to grasp the huge scale of the construction.

At 0:25 and :34 it is too close to the left solid line, so it is not centering, or is being driven manually. Some of the other footage has it somewhat close to the right hand edge. So, maybe not self driving.

Hi Zanegler. Have you seen that a couple of Tesla Semi's have been spotted at Giga Berlin by Tobias Lindh, see his latest video (it's near the end):- kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXXZk2CaoJJ_pq8si=gK51gDDd6xQukgyZ

Great video, sir. Thanks for the information. It's exciting to watch history in the making. Also, I'm sure Tesla themselves will be using your videos to discuss optimisations for the second Semi factory when that starts work. You're brilliant!

Nice video again! But still no big cranes to start construction of the steel. So going vertical is still days away. That wide slab of concrete being poored along the perimeter is also puzzling me, we have not seen that in any of the other Tesla factories.

Absolutely I think it’s driving itself. I come to that conclusion because the Semi is in the middle of the lane. Cheers Zanegler.

Looks like that after the main footing a concrete column base is poured that contains the column bolts. This needs to be very accurate, so not done with the main footing concrete. Steelwork probably several weeks away still. The steelwork will proceed faster than the footings, so footings need to get some time ahead of the steelwork.

Thanks for doing this, Zanegler. You'll keep getting better at this and once the construction goes vertical you'll have more and more exciting material.

Those orange hi lift trucks moving material are called TELEHANDLERS. When they pick up a stack of steel & move it to where it will be installed, that pile of steel has been STAGED near its point of installation. !

2:21. Ride-on troweler. 5:11. Tele-handler. These look to be truss columns. 5:41. Hold-down bolts are square/parallel to the grid, as will be the columns. The diamond box around the column a method of finishing the floor slab up to the column. Column on an isolated island. 7:16. Many of these components will be identical. Each component will have a tag showing a designation. C1, C2, C3 etc. The plans will show which grid location is a receive a C1 etc. There might be 50 locations for a C1, 100 for a C2, 5 for a C3. Same with the beams, joists, rafter etc. B1, B2, J1, J2, R1 and so on. 8:18. Orange crane components on the trailer?

I’m not convinced they need cranes for this phase. Steel columns aren’t that big. This was mentioned by another viewer

material has identification tags or numbers are welded on the steel & the plans call out each id number on the drawings. you are doing well on learning the verbiage of construction. my guess on columns going vertical will be two full days after the cranes arrive. the day of arrival will not count. 1st day will be inspection of crane and the next day will be set up with possible test of setting one, two or three to test the crews and equipment.

I have removed my earlier reply, I think your reply has been misplaced by KZbin and should be at another very short clip Zanegler posted about speculating the Semi being tested with FSD. KZbin does this sometimes, I had the same issue some time ago..

Seems weird they paved in the dirt area by the panasonic side to make it a parking lot If they were planning to expand the building. Maybe they figured expanding the building is too disruptive to current production?

My amateur logic tells me that it has to do with manipulation space needed around the building. Plus they realized they needed to make the factory much larger anyway.

They’re collecting data to train the vision model (ie cameras). The LiDAR allows them to do a point map and use it to train the models so the same can be done with cameras only. They’ve done it with many models in the past and the Semi likely needs more of this data as the placement of the cameras is very different than Teslas other vehicle. It is likely this means that Autopilot or FSD is coming in the next 3-6 months to the Semi (especially given FSD v12 and the increased computing power now being installed in Giga Texas)

No it is not driving itself. Tesla uses temporary lidar rigs to cross reference and test other hardware/software like the cameras or FSD. Lidar setup is not permanent equipment. In one shot u can see the drivers hand on wheel as well. This is just ongoing internal testing.
