This should've been an effect of Cold Spells like the Hazard: Burning. More damage types could have had Hazard riders. That'd make Elemental Builds a tad more rewarding, like failing a save from a damage type by 5 does so & so effect. Then Elemental Adept could've doubled down & make the riders just work, even on a success.

Always wondered, if running Armor of Agathys, dumping DEX would be easier to hit. AC 9= 10 + (-1 DEX Mod) OR Barbarian dip with 8 in DEX & CON for an AC 8 =(10 + (-1 DEX Mod) + (-1 CON Mod)). Like a Moon Druid + Barbarian with the Rune Carver background for Armor of Agathys. When Armor of Agathys THP is running low, Wildshape for 3x Druid Level. Then in Wildshape you could use the Beast's AC, Unarmored Defense (Barbarian), or Moon Druid's 13 + WIS (whichever is higher).

Love Spirit Shroud's variety of damage. Its Cold damage can be Transmuted (Divine Soul or MM Adept), giving it early access to Conjure Minor Elementals other damage types: fire, lightning, acid, & more exclusively: poison, thunder, or the original radiant, or necrotic.

The problem with Investitures are, the immunities and offensive abilities granted to face something, is probably also immune or resistance to it. Sorcerers with Transmuted Metamgic can get around this, as well as Scribes Wizards. If I could fix these Investiture Spells, it would last all day (until you finish a long rest) & non-concentration. As well as give them a secondary damage option (Bludgeoning/Piercing/Slashing) or an attack version.

I don't think it's in the 2024 phb but primal savagery is a good pick , I would use that and thorn whip, reason being is it's non verbal spell in case you get caught in silence. It's not the best cantrip and it's really difficult to improve it but a somatic only attack spell is always good to have in your back pocket in my opinion
@comradewarners2 күн бұрын
@@glitchking666 for sure a good pick up! Does your DM use silence a lot? Mine doesn’t, but it’s such a good spell I don’t see why not!

@comradewarners not as of yet but I like to be prepared, especially since in one session we used it pretty effectively. We had to confront an adventuring party that was working for the bbeg who was framing us for crimes . We caught up to them in an open field cutting off our normal combat tricks , they had a back line of casters and a front line of mostly melee combatants . We used silence on the back line and web on the front line and were in complete control of the encounter, which was supposed to be a trap for us by limiting what we normally do.

I like that you can use it with a Sling, specifically, with its lower normal range of 30-ft instead of hurling it 40-ft. Its so strange. Like maybe you can use it to attack?

So for this build u should just use a reach weapon so you can hit twice around. The thrown weapon thing will be good if u get w magic item that returns to u but u cant assume players will get that item. Since your doing mounted combatant, why not cast warding bond on you and your horse. Then u upcast aid on both you and your horse and this should result in your character being significantly more tanky. Other than that it’s a cool concept, but I hate save or suck builds and that’s just my opinion. I hate save or sucks bc once u get to mid/high tier of play monsters have legendary resistances and have high saving throws. I like to do things that don’t rely on a saving throw. That’s just me though. For the most part, I like the build and it’s cool. Also something to consider is the meta magic option that lets u change the dmg type of amor of Agathis for when u face enemies immune or resistance to cold dmg. Also since your heavily relying on save or sucks u really wanna cap your CHR instead of str. Ik for mounted combatant u have to boost either str, dex, or Wis but i would really focus everything else on chr. U can do warcaster to get to 18 CHR, and then +2 chr to get to 20.
@comradewarners2 күн бұрын
@Brandonrod So the idea is that you would be 30 feet up in the air when throwing the Javelins, and you would just have a ton in your bag. With the new rules there is basically no restriction on changing weapons, so you can just have a bunch in your bag and throw them at your enemies. Since you will be farther from the enemies you will be much harder to hit most of the time. Especially because you only need to be 30 feet away when throwing. You can then fly 120 feet back and be 150 feet away from your target. Also you’re using innate sorcery, so your saving throws are 1 better for all the saves you’re using, and this build by the end has a 20 CHA and only an 18 Strength so we for sure went that route with it. I agree that save or sucks… well suck lol, so that’s another reason why I’m stacking multiple effects on each other to increase the likelihood of at least 1 of them working out. Got Elemental Adept so we don’t need to worry about resistance luckily. Thanks for your comment! I love to hear what people think about the build! 😁

As far as casting psionic spells with sorcery points, you could do that and still cast a bonus action spell, like Misty step, thus bypassing that rule.

Just a slight correction, channel. Divinity is 2 per long rest. And you only get one of them back on a short rest. Also, it only takes a bonus action to summon another pact weapon, not an action.

Hey there, not to be a downer but paladin smite specifically says that it is a bonus action triggered by a melee attack. I have been playing a steel defender artificer and playing at ranged and the new smite spells made me sad 😔
@comradewarners4 күн бұрын
@@Quixos0409 with the new 2024 rules it says an attack with a melee weapon. Meaning any thrown weapon that is considered a melee weapon works with smite. That includes Javelins, Daggers, Light Hammers, and handaxes. It is sad since it’s a bonus action, but for a non-Paladin to get access to it it’s better than what non-paladins could get before! :D it doesn’t require concentration which is great!
