It's tough editing in a tent! I made my first video series while bikepacking the Arizona Trail in 2018. I had never made a video before that and I was using Davinci Resolve as well (incredible that it is free!). It's a lot to learn and manage while traveling this way but damn do I love it! I leave next week to cycle from Patagonia to Alaska and finalizing my filmmaking kit now so it's fun to see your way of doing things. Happy trails!

I travelled through half of the world. 10 years ago. Since than I had an excellend carreer, two healthy kids, I live a great life by all measurable standards. Yet there is not a single day that I wouldn't think of hitting the road again. I am not sure if I'd be happy then, I just know I am not happy now.

You did a mistake! As soon as you entered Iran, you had to communicate with great people of Iran! No guest needed to sleep in a cave in Iran! Ever!

For Lara to produce the videos on the move they way she does is excellent. It’s my toughest thing to get the video shots and the cuts. You need time and patience and Lara has done ace at doing this. I have not.

I got a insta 360 x4 and for using it to just film everything it’s ace. Before I endlessly stop start and the app on the MacBook is ace too. You can use any footage not just insta. But to capture stuff like a village scene while riding through it’s always ( or can be on for 10 mins ) through the village and then you capture 360.

I have that drone. If you think of it as a very long selfie stick and use the mini automatic menus it’s fine. In wind don’t get it out. It’s simple and cheap too. The new one they just brought out is way too expensive. This drone though is cheap enough to lose in a tree but that’s unusual.

Hardest thing and most time consuming is making film clips and sound for a movie worth watching. My photographs are great I love my landscapes but I a terrible at making movies. You need a lot of time and effort and Lara has made great videos all the time she has been out on the trail. Well done.

For the zipper of the top tuve...get a plier and gently, press the lower part of the closing mechanism, the narrower, on both sides. It Will make It close the zipper properly

Even though I don't like using lights when it gets dark as it can give out my position if there are people around (female solo traveler), it is worth checkin' out the grounds... I've pitched my tent in the dark in some ruins in Vietnam... it was full of ents!! lesson lernt!

I'm telling this as an Iranian dissident in Europe with no affinity to the Iranian regime, certainly not the police. However I wonder if you know how the situation is for a non-european in many central/western European countries. Residing in abandoned places & expecting the police not to check on you is mind-blowing as if a non-european does this in Europe on a visa it would simply result in immediate deportation.

Iran/ Persia is a beautiful country with many different tourist destinations from North to South , with beautiful nature, mountains, jungles, sea side, islands and historical sites. Persian people are very friendly and hospitable too. Great content mate, keep up the good work!

Iran will definitely be an exciting memory for you.
