Can you explain how I turn off sensors inside the car so I can leave my dog inside without setting the alarm off while I nip into the post office? Please, I've tried the on off twice button whilst I'm sat inside the vehicle, which works but then I need to get out and leave my dog 🤔🤔🤔 thanks

Thanks for the comment. Try asking google assistant to “switch off interior motion sensor” and then switch off the car. You can leave the window open and leave your dog/people in the car, when you walk away from your car and lock the car with your key. Let me know if that worked?

Hi, I just changed the wipers on a w177 2020 A class and the right wiper is juddering, it’s a brand new wiper. Any ideas?

If you followed the instructions in the video then it should not judder. Are you using Mercedes genuine parts? If so then it will probably be worth getting a refund/replacement and then test the wipers then and there if they still judder. They might refit the ones you bought first before they do refund/replace them, just to make sure the wipers are not faulty. Let me know how you get on please?

You will need to use the Mercedes Me app to setup pre entry climate, aslong as the car is hybrid or an electric car.

I should have been more specific. For plug in hybrids only in the UK. It will probably be the same for other countries too.

@@DrSaahb ok. I answered my own question. So if you remote start with the climate control on auto then after its started by the app the vehicle will then heat or cool to the last temp setting that was displayed the last time it was driven.

Thank you for the comment. The A-Class is very similar to the GLA. The GLA is on steroids when compared to the A-Class (taller and slightly longer). I have other videos in the GLA playlist which hopefully are helpful too.

I have a 2023 CLA 45 that has Driving Assistance option. I have route-based speed disabled in the settings. However, my cruise speed still auto-adjusts when it detect different speed limits, VERY ANNOYING. I'll be cruising at 80, and it detect an old construction zone, and it hits the brakes trying to adjust speed down to 60. Is there any thing else I'm missing? TIA!

Thanks for the comment. Some people do say to me to adjust the letters so it reads DR 54AHB but I would prefer not to break the law. The blue ones are showplates so can use them for future videos I make.

Hi Dr Saahb, your videos are very good, I’ve learnt quite a bit, thank you. I have a question and was wondering if you can possibly answer this. On your car have you ever had any issues with the reversing camera? The problem I have is the hidden camera keeps popping out when the car is in Drive Mode, the camera should only pop out if you put the car in reverse. I’ve bought the 2024 model and I’ve heard previous models had no issues at all. I’m just panicking the camera doesn’t break down!

Thanks for the comment. I would recommend you book your car for warranty work to get it checked and fixed if needed. Somebody else also messaged the same issue and I advised the same. It should be free because you have warranty. Aslong as you haven’t had a bump lol.

Thanks, fortunately no bump. I’ve already given to dealer and they said everything looked ok and the issue was fixed, unfortunately it wasn’t so booked it again and this time they will try to fix again. Seems like we’ve got a bad batch like your other person who got the same problem as me.

I've had the GLA 200 Urban (2014 with automatic) for 10 days now and am starting to get used to it. It's supposed to be an SUV, but of course it's different from my spacious Honda CR-V, but it's big enough for me as a single person. I just need to practice getting in and out without getting hurt 😂. But it drives really well, so relaxing and has great roadholding and is relatively quiet up to 120 km/h. I hope it lasts a long time. Thanks again for your video and kind regards, Udo

@@DrSaahb Sometimes you show the effects of what you are doing, but the camera doesn't focus on what button you pressed to get to the screen you are working on. I know this is a long video, but it's a complicated vehicle, especially for those who have no familiarly with recent models. Your video is the best I've seen on gaining familiarity with the GLE 350.

@@DrSaahb the steering wheel button, the car door buttons and the emergency buttons... the seat adjustment button is hard to use, tight, not easy to push.... the middle panel is easy to get dirty and scratched... mercedes becomes less mercedes....

I do feel most of the car feels like an upgrade to the previous version. Yes the steering wheel buttons have changed and i do prefer the old ones. The seat controls are a metal finish with haptic style feedback so they are not supposed to move. The other buttons you mentioned have always been plastic. What specification was your previous car and now what specification do you have?

I have a question and i hope you answer. I'm in my 40s now and I've stayed away from European cars as in my humble opinion they have planned obsolescence built in as a feature. And then when that feature kicks in it's costly and never ending. Now when it comes to electric cars i believe there's really not much to break (other than the airmatic suspension) in this particular car so i think this should be able to go 300k or 400k miles. Now i know there aren't any with those kinda miles so far but what do you think? If you wanna know the reason I'm thinking of getting an electric car for ride sharing but i don't want a Tesla and i can get one of these used for Under 50k.. charging it up i had is just about 10 bucks Give or take and i heard the range is real world 350 miles. I think i can work with that though i would prefer 400. If the reliability on this is decent I'm give it a go

Thanks for the comment. You seem to be really informed. I think for $50k that does seem really good value. If I was looking at an electric car I would choose the Merc over the Tesla. In terms of keeping any car for 300k or 400k miles there will always be maintenance costs. I used to worry about maintenance costs but if I am going to really enjoy using it then I don’t mind paying for the maintenance for it. What brands do you normally buy or have?

@@DrSaahb only Japanese cars specifically Toyota/Lexus. My last couple cars have been Toyota hybrids that I've ABUSED with no issues whatsoever doing ride-share sunrise to sunset. You can't break these Toyota hybrids. And the fuel economy is actually great but I'm seeing the charging cost is like half of what I'm paying for in gas with that evs 😂 so I'm looking into it. If I'm going to spend all day in a car.... You know what I mean?

Yes Toyota and Lexus are great cars. My uncle had an IS200 model year 2000 and he had owned it for many years and he stopped servicing it properly just so he could have an excuse to sell it but it wouldn’t die lol. He eventually sold it to someone who also still drives it I think. What is ride-share sunrise sunset? I am from the UK so not heard of this?

@@DrSaahb ride-share meaning Uber. Sunrise to sunset meaning I start working before the sun rises at 5am and I stop working after sunset usually at night. I drive literally all day doing Uber which is why I'm running about getting something a lil more luxuries as my butt cheeks are in that chair all day.

Is there a way to activate parking guidelines? Recently got a a200d premium 2018 model however when I engage reverse I have no guidelines appear on my camera. Check the OM and couldn’t find anything on it

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I did test the reverse camera on mine and I couldn’t remove the guidelines. Do you think you are on a different camera view? There are two options. One gives guidelines and the other camera view gives you a wider view of the rear with no guidelines.

Thanks for the comment. So I think your car is the pre-facelift model which has a different version of the software. You can try connecting with a cable to test it (I recommend a good quality cable). If that doesn’t work then I would check with your local Mercedes Dealership to double check if you have Apple CarPlay fitted from factory when it was built and if yours doesn’t, then you might be able to buy Apple CarPlay through the Mercedes Me online portal.

Thanks for the comment. I would recommend any used car you are buying has a full Mercedes Service History. It will have a 3 year warranty from new so you will still have two years left if you buy a 2023 model. The a45 has more power but depends what performance cars you have owned or driven because the a35 has plenty of power for most people.
