Hi, I found your video about the Osmo Action 5 Pro camera interesting. I have two questions: 1. Is it possible to establish an audio-in connection similar to the GoPro Media Mod, allowing two-channel (LR) audio-in via a USB-C adapter? 2. Will the DJI OA 5 Pro recognize a mixer (e.g., Soundcraft Notepad 12FX) as an external audio device for podcasting when connected via a USB-C to USB Type B (printer cable)? Thank you in advance for your response. Have a great day!

Hello Wayne! Thank you for the video! I didn´t find anything related to Automatic Gain Control in the instructions. I´m looking for the best motovloggin setup. I´m using a boya by-k4 adapter. What do you think about the best configurationi? Turn AGC on or off? If it´s turned on I think that the gain should be higher than if you have it turned off. Thanks in advance!

What is the monitor volume? In the camera settings, there is no reaction
@WayneRECs10 күн бұрын
When I Mic 2 TX is connected to the Action 5, if you connect a USB-C headphone, you can listen to what the Mic 2 is picking up. The Monitor Volume raises or lowers the volume being sent to these headphones. That said, there is some latency when monitoring the Mic 2 TX this way (i.e. someone will speak into a TX and you'll hear it through the headphones slightly delayed).
@remko898610 күн бұрын
@@WayneRECsThanks a lot for the feedback, it turns out that you can adjust the volume only in the microphone menu where you can lower and raise the dibels and only there, since the connection via Bluetooth is direct

is this microphone port in this adapter stereo? , will there be 2 audio tracks in Osmo?
@WayneRECs11 күн бұрын
Yes, when the camera is set to Stereo mode, I've been able to connect a USB-C wireless receiver (set to split stereo mode) and record TX1 on the L track and TX2 on the R track.

Hey Wayne, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, would you love to have a logo for your channel to have an audio themed brand image your audience can remember your contents from and also can be one of the fun merch print you can sell to your fans to buy and own and share the words about your channel too? Let me know if you interested and I would love to work with you to design these for you! :-)

Great video, thanks for the info, I have osmo 4 and a RODE lavalier mic, which adapter would you use, it’s for motovlogging thanks
@WayneRECs14 күн бұрын
With the OA4 in your situation, I would go with the official DJI Audio adapter. It provides a more secure connection to the camera and it's always better to have a lower signal and then boost in post over having too much signal and clipping all recorded audio (which is unrecoverable in post).

I wish I knew what kind of headphones the commenters who prefer the e100sx were using. I've listened to this using the rode nth-100s and the razer blackshark v2 and, to me, the e100s sounds like what you probably sound like in real life, but the e100sx sounds like you're talking to me through a door (well, not quite that bad, but more so than the e100s).

Very informative mate. Any tips on reducing that lag between switching the action 4 on via quick start and the mic being detected? They lag makes spontaneous moto vlogging impossible without having to wait several seconds

Thanks Wayne for this info. I'm new to Action cameras and first time using of the DJI Action 5 Pro. Is it possible to use external microphones with 32 bit float settings in the MP4 file? I'm referring to "non-DJI" external mics using the USB-C to 3.5mm stereo input. Thanks again and have a great day, James.
@WayneRECs10 күн бұрын
As of right now, 32-bit float only applies to audio files and is more or less a file type container that is able to store additional audio information that's typically omitted in 24-bit recordings. Right now, mp4 video files cannot write 32-bit float bit depth audio into the baked in audio tracks of video files. As of today, the only way to take advantage of 32-bit float wav files is to use them separately in post synced / replacing the baked in audio of a mp4. With the rise of 32-bit float, could a new video file format (like say an mp5) that incorporates 32-bit float audio data? Maybe, but that could take years if at all.

So to take an analog source with RCA's into something like an iRig Solo that has a TRRS output, you can't just use any TRRS female to usb c adapter to input into your phone? usb c to trrs are different than a trrs to usb c? like directionality matters?

Is there a way to do dual channel recording? One channel the TX the other the onboard mics from the action?
@WayneRECs10 күн бұрын
No, the mp4 video file that is recorded to the camera only uses a single audio source (either wireless DJI Mics, USB-C audio or built-in camera mics). The workaround would be to enable the built-in mic backup recordings and then mix them in post while having the mp4 with the TX audio.
