Yes, the Apple Notes has really improved and "pay less for ever" argument stands of course... However if you want all the Goodies of the newest version of Apple Notes you will also need to spend hundreds of Dollars/Euros to upgrade your devices because only the newest devices do support this new version of apple notes. I am talking about iPad and iPhone and may be also MacOS. The beauty about Evernote is that you get all the newest functions and features on ery stabile and good old versions and devices across multiple platforms. So for the price of 3-4 coffees in the restaurant a month (which you probably have any way...) you will be able to save a lot of money and stay sustainable in matter of environment matter also, since you do not have to bin all the good old infrastructure.

Thank you for this video. I think many of my doubts have been cleared because of this. I am using Clickup as my personal task and project management tool. (Business Plus plan to be precise due to subtasks in multiple list). I am currently not worried about BKM and BPM as clickup excels in that. I don't want to clutter clickup with every small stuff and want to use it as Single Source of Truth and thus recently purchased Heptabase yearly for it's whiteboarding capabilities. But, I feel something is missing but don't know what and am thinking to explore tana for it and use your workflow as a template for my workflow. But now I feel that Tana has lots of redundant stuff with Clickup and this is creating lots of friction. I like Tana's flexibility a lot and thus am very interested but don't know where to separate these apps. Also, now an issue of price optimization is also creeping its way in my mind. Can you please suggest me something or create a video if you think that this is worthy of your time. Thanks a lot.

What's missing is probably a task management tool. You don't want to clutter ClickUp with every small task. You might want to use something that streamlines capturing Speedies (tasks that take less than 15 minutes). According to the ICOR tool stack we use, Todoist is another tool we integrate alongside ClickUp. Todoist serves as the Personal Project Management (PPM) tool, while ClickUp functions as the Business Project Management (BPM) tool. This setup is ideal for people juggling dozens of tasks daily and weekly. Having a personal task list can be very beneficial. To bring everything together and plan out your work effectively, you might also need a planner. Here, I link two videos that dive into this topic more closely. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2a6dIaia9t7g5Y kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGrCgnR8eciSo9U If you need a real solution tailored to your specific needs, I highly recommend joining us in the Paperless Movement membership. @paperlessmovement Yes, I am planning to join your community in the upcoming days. Todoist or any other task management tool does not work for me as I think every task associated with a project should be present at a single place. Yes, you are right about a planner, and I tried Sunsama for it, but it was not up to the mark for my clickup workflow. The gap I feel after going through multiple videos is in 1. Automations as Neither Heptabase nor Tana supports Zapier or Make. Thus me having to put so many tasks is creating lots of friction. They don't even have API endpoints, which is a big issue for me. 2. No shallow thinking system and thus direct transition to deep thinking is creating issues. Tana could solve that for me. Clickup will be my everything action management (personal task and personal project) Will join your membership soon as I get free from some of my commitments.

They need to add proper privacy, end to end encryption and don't inprison the users data by stopping them from exporting more than 50 notes at a time. I don't need or use most of these "New" features because I already have perfectly brilliant solutions to almost all of the problems they have solved. I don't remember you telling Ian Small about all these problems when you interviewed him. It was a bit of a love fest if you remember. I knew Ian Small wasn't the person to be taking over Evernote when he dissed tags, telling everyone he doesn't use them and anyway only 2% of Evernote users use them anyway so no love was given to them. Personally I'm looking forward to Apple Calendar integration, that could be useful because I don't use Google calendars.

Great video! Could you possibly do a review of the new Epson Workforce document scanners (ds-800wn/ds-900wn) with their new OpenSource software platform? It would be interesting to see how they stack up as an alternative to Raven scanners.
 Also a test of the new Remarkable Paper Pro would be amazing!

Thank you, thank you and thank you again. It would be wonderful if Microsoft demostrated a beginning to end productivity lifecycle video series on using all these tools to make them more useful. I think, as you mentioned that, this would also help them close the gaps in the integration of these tools which would help remove so much confusion.

Do you put things like a weekly review or paying a bill on your calendar or on your todo list? Both can be set to remind me weekly, I can’t decide where to put it.
@paperlessmovement
@paperlessmovement 4 күн бұрын
Weekly review is a Routine and goes to my planner app (in my case Sunsama). Paying a bill is shallow work and will be batched with similar tasks to be worked on during my Afternoon routine. This routine “Do Shallow Work” is on my planner, while the specific task about the invoice would live in my Task Manager, marked as speedy (task less than 15 min).

It’s an interesting perspective, not wanting a one tool fits all solution. But, the big advantage is cost. As soon as you add multiple tools the subscription can balloon from $10-$20 per month to $80 - $100 per month or more. That can be $1500+ per year on positivity tools alone. It’s a lot of money. How much should a busy professional budget for productivity tools? There is probably a balance where time saved more than recovers the subscription costs, but what is it?
@paperlessmovement
@paperlessmovement 7 күн бұрын
The problem isn't money; it's how people leverage their tools. Once you understand precisely why you're using a tool and how much time it will save you, even a $1,500 monthly expense can be justified. The real issue is that people waste money on flashy tools they see on KZbin, thinking they’ll work miracles. Instead, these tools often overlap in functionality, scattering information across multiple note-taking apps and creating redundancy. That’s where the ICOR Framework comes in. It helps you pinpoint which tools are redundant and identify gaps in your system. It differentiates between core apps, which run your productivity system, and satellite and utility apps, which enhance it. The key is to start with the basics in a tool-agnostic way, something we assist with inside the membership. Often, the first coaching session of our Inner Circle program, reveals just how many redundant tools people use and how to seamlessly integrate the necessary ones, therefore saving money on day one.

Do you use a CRM? How about videoconferencing?
@paperlessmovement
@paperlessmovement Күн бұрын
Yes, we use a CRM-specifically ActiveCampaign-and personal CRMs like Clay. For video conferencing, we use Zoom. However, listing every tool would be overkill. Instead, we focus exclusively on productivity tools to get the full picture, treating tools like Zoom as utility apps. These are essential or key business systems, but they don’t directly impact our productivity. This allows to make more targeted decisions on how to improve the overall efficiency of our business processes.

For me personally, I use Sunsama as a sacred place to plan my week and use a task manager, emails, and projects as a reference list. Major events and tasks are mostly defined in the weekly objective and I refer to tasks without deadlines as someday or anytime things to do (using Things 3 now). Appreciate your efforts, thanks for sharing.

You just don't get to the point! You keep giving example after example of what you are _not_ talking about. Trying to define what you are NOT talking about by describing everything that is NOT it is ridiculous. I concluded that if you can not directly address the concept you're "selling" then it is not worth my attention. "Accentuate the Positive. Eliminate the Negative. Don't mess with Inbetween " Be pithy - not windy!

I dont agree, he gave examples and pain points that a lot of people will encounter and solve counter-intuitively for the most part. Ive used sunsama in the past but did not stick to it because i managed my calendar and tasks exactly the way he is demonstrating not to. So for me this was valuable insight and a good example of why to approach it differently (compared to the "default" methods that I had been trying to manage it with).
@koenignero
@koenignero 15 күн бұрын
I'm a bit confused. You mentioned someone swamped with tasks, yet then presented a Sunsana calendar with only seven tasks for the entire week, business AND private together. For that amount of tasks, a simple kitchen calendar pinned to the fridge would suffice. If you're managing 30+ tasks a week, with more coming in daily, it makes little sense to put them all into a calendar. The calendar should be reserved for "Deep Work" and "Shallow Work"-tasks that require focused attention within set time blocks. Meanwhile, tasks without specific deadlines are better suited to a simple list organized by priority, with no dates attached. This keeps the calendar clean and allows for flexibility in handling new and ongoing tasks.
@paperlessmovement
@paperlessmovement 15 күн бұрын
No worries about the confusion! The highlights and goals you see on Sunsama are just snippets of my day. Hidden beneath that is all the shadow work, part of my routines, as you can see also tracked on Sunsama. When I hit the routine block, I dive into the relevant action system to discover all the shadow work I need to tackle. This way, my planner remains uncluttered, letting me focus on high-priority tasks. If any unexpected events or urgent tasks pop up, I can quickly check Sunsama make a swift decision, and stay on track. Instead of juggling 10-20 tasks, I keep deep work planned on Sunsama and manage the shallow work on an infinite task list via Todoist or ClickUp, working through them in priority sequence. Does this help to clarify?
