Indeed, I've fooled with this remarkable amphoteric material and found that it can be used as a nucleating agent, in the proper sequence and set of solvents and surfactants.

Do you insert the screw hardware into the casting resin while it's still liquid? How do you ensure that it's level and doesn't list to one side as it hardens?
@EnvironMolds28 күн бұрын
Hi there Debra. You must make certain your mold is level before pouring resin. Then resin will seek level by itself. If you are making knobs you will attach to cabinets, you drill a small pilot hole into the knob. You then have a long screw (sheet rock screw works) come through the backside of the cabinet and screwed into the pilot hole of the knob to attach it firmly. Warm regards, Ed
@debrachase313128 күн бұрын
@@EnvironMolds Thank-you:) Can you use this method if the knob has open work? Do you just stretch the silicone that goes through the holes to slice it free? I got an antique dresser with only 5 of the original knobs. I could replace them all, but they are SO cool and unique. They have a bit of an art deco flair to them. I did an image search and found nothing.

Hi Can we make a mold for pots with this material, can it be used more than once, what material do you pour into this?
@EnvironMoldsАй бұрын
Hi there. The kit contains dental impression material to make the mold and casting plaster to make the cast. It cannot be used in making pots.
@milospavicАй бұрын
@@EnvironMolds I assume that the second part cannot be reused for another mold impression. Is it disposable?
@EnvironMoldsАй бұрын
@@milospavic The first part is the mold making material. It can only be used once and must be cast within a few hours as the mold will shrink as its water evaporates. The second part is casting plaster and can only be used for one casting.

can't u just remove the borax and salt cystals by hand using gloves and then let them dry for 12 to 24 hours instead of dipping them in water which delays your whole thing by about a fill day or so more especially in humid climates water on wicks is a really bad idea because even in the sun light it will take an extra day to dry..

What is Borax and where do You retrieve in nature?
@EnvironMolds2 ай бұрын
Borax, also known as sodium borate, sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate, is a naturally occurring mineral and a salt of boric acid. It is widely used in households, industries, and even in science experiments due to its versatile properties. Here's a breakdown of what it is and how it's commonly used: 1. Household Cleaning Multi-purpose cleaner: Borax is a powerful cleaning agent and is often used to make homemade cleaning solutions. It can help remove stains, mold, mildew, and odors from various surfaces. Laundry booster: Added to laundry detergent, borax helps soften hard water, making detergents more effective and clothes cleaner. Dishwasher cleaner: Borax can be used to clean dishwashers and remove water spots from dishes. 2. Pest Control Insecticide: Borax is often used as a natural insect repellent. It is especially effective against ants, cockroaches, and fleas. When ingested by insects, borax disrupts their digestive system, eventually killing them. Fungicide: It can also act as a natural fungicide to treat mold and mildew growth. 3. DIY Projects and Crafts Slime-making: Borax is a key ingredient in many DIY slime recipes. It acts as a cross-linking agent with glue to create the stretchy, fun texture of slime. Homemade putty: Similar to slime, borax can be used in putty-making for a different texture and sensory experience. 4. Water Softening In hard water areas, borax is used to soften water, as it binds to minerals that cause water hardness, making soaps and detergents more effective. 5. Personal Care Bath salts: In small amounts, borax can be added to homemade bath salts as a water softener and skin soother. Natural deodorizer: It’s sometimes used in DIY deodorant or body odor solutions. 6. Industrial and Agricultural Uses Glass and ceramics: Borax is used in the manufacture of glass and ceramics, helping to improve the melting temperature and finish. Fertilizer: It’s used in agriculture as a micronutrient fertilizer, especially in soils that lack boron, which is an essential element for plant growth. Safety Considerations: While borax is generally safe to use in controlled quantities, it can be harmful if ingested in large amounts or inhaled as dust over time. Always follow safety guidelines, use gloves when handling it in large amounts, and store it out of reach of children and pets. Borax’s versatility makes it a staple in many homes, but it should be used responsibly.

You’ve got to be kidding me…. Wrap the cotton around a greeting card to measure fast and consistently. Dip the cotton into the melted wax pull it out while it’s still wet and touch the tip to your parchment paper. The wax will quickly harden and you can gently pull it straight without pulling it off the paper and lay it straight. You’re welcome.

For anyone watching this video ... never use any petroleum product on latex. And fyi, most soaps have petroleum in them. Petroleum will destroy latex. Ever have the problem where your latex mold is becoming gooey, sticky, and falling apart? It's most likely because you've cleaned it or added a petroleum product on it. Instead, use 70% rubbing alcohol mixed with a little bit of caster oil (not motor oil) for a mold release. And to clean your molds after using them, use water mixed with some white vinegar. Using petroleum products with latex is bad info. Hope this tip helps someone ... Oh, wanted to add that sunlight will also destroy latex. Always keep your molds out of the sun.

This is a clothed figure. But, let's discuss it a moment. The age of artistic censorship we're currently experiencing is marked by a complex tension between cultural sensitivity and freedom of expression. On one hand, increased awareness of different cultural contexts and the potential for art to offend has led to a more cautious approach. This sensitivity is often seen as a progressive move towards a more inclusive and respectful society. However, it can sometimes tip into what some perceive as over-sensitivity, where even the most benign artistic expressions are scrutinized or censored out of fear of causing offense. This heightened sensitivity has its roots in a positive place-aiming to avoid perpetuating stereotypes, disrespecting cultural symbols, or harming vulnerable groups. But it can also lead to self-censorship among artists and cultural institutions, who may avoid certain topics or expressions to sidestep controversy. This is particularly challenging in fields like education, art, and media, where exploring diverse human experiences and historical realities is crucial for deep understanding and societal progress. Critics argue that such sensitivity can limit creative freedom and stifle dialogue that could foster deeper understanding and reconciliation. The key challenge moving forward is finding a balance that respects diverse perspectives while still upholding the essential freedoms that allow art to challenge, inspire, and inform. This conversation mirrors broader societal debates about the boundaries of speech and the role of art in public life, suggesting that the solutions will need to be as nuanced as the art forms themselves. We respect your opinion as it yours. However, there was absolutely no intention to offend only to teach.

@@EnvironMolds yes, let's discuss. So, I'm not the first to notice. I'm a psychiatric professional. I spend most of my time working with young men and women whose lives have been permanently deranged by the sexual attention of a trusted adult. Some of them had their clothes on. It's not about what he did as much as how it affected her. All the adults were telling her this is ok, this is normal. Like Dr. Nasir and the gymnasts. I noticed RED FLAGS. If I say nothing, I am complicit. I don't know him or you, I have observed a white male over 40 talking about touching a tweens breast and cutting her leotard off etc. if you don't find this alarming you are enabling. any issues that young woman has around men and sex in the future are on your shoulders. I am not saying that man has molested anyone. I'm saying he is behaving in a manner that is 100% consistent with an active pedophile. See something, say something. Wouldn't it be a dream to live in a world where boys and girls can become adults without sexual trauma, relationship trauma, and all the maladaptive behaviors. My best to you and your family. If you need help right now, call 988. If you're concerned about that child, have her evaluated by a trauma trained professional.
