Well yes hip flexors do inhibit glutes as they are antagonistic muscles. But from my experience of just stretching and foam rolling my hip flexors, I saw zero improvement. Activating my glutes is the only time when I can feel my hip flexors temporarily relaxing.

I found out this on my MRI recently: 1.Levoscoliosis in lumbar spine, stable since prior study. 2.At L5-S1 level; right subarticular disc protrusion containing focal annular tear is causing mild impingement upon the right S1 nerve root, visible on series 7/image 18. This is similar to prior study. 3.At L4-L5 level; there is mild narrowing of the spinal canal and mild narrowing of the bilateral neural foramina secondary to annular circumferential diffuse disc bulge and mild bilateral facet joint hypertrophy I do have pain in both my hips, leg and lumbar spine. They did a cortisone shot in my hip to find out if the pain and instability is from the hip or back. It seems to be from both. I fell last year and this is what caused the problems of not being able to lay on my right hip at all. When I went to go running again a few weeks back is when the pain got really bad in both my hip and back. It hurts to do anything now (I cant sleep, exercise, sitting hurts & standing feels still a bit like I will fall over, driving hurts, lifting heavy stuff). Ive seen a hip surgeon that I follow up with on Thursday and made an appt for a spine surgeon but not sure what to do. I know some of the career and high intensity sports didnt help.

How does fascial release fit in to the picture? I've tried similar stretches for a long time but find it impossible to overcome years of poor posture and tightness in the chest
@GotROM5 күн бұрын
Fascial release is what we call “Targeted Tissue Work”. In all our 45-day flexibility/mobility programs we use this kind of fascial release work PRIOR to the stretching.
