though these amps are great they are either heavy to lug around or very expensive. also for big size gigs. simple entertainment and normal gigs i like Deluxe Reverb 68 Custom or Supro Delta King 10. great tone. still need some pocket change to buy them. affordable smaller Fender amps that are mic-ed are great too.

Great job. I just got an email from them offering a deal and A LOT of their sales pitch/appeal relies on the lie that they are some hands on mom and pop organization. Being in NE was also a potential plus for me. I'd never do business with them after seeing this.

So I don’t like blind buying a guitar or piano. I eventually saw a used zad900 in a local guitar center near me my wife and I were curious as I’ve been talking about these for years now. We were not impressed and it did not even compare to my mid level Taylor

You really hate on some very good amps. I have made my living since 1976 performing and am still using several amps I bought new when first starting out. Thousands of hours on stage and at least a million miles being hauled back and forth the USA and Canada...... I own several amps on this list and would not trade them for anything else.

Greetings Bob; Not trying to disparage anyone, but I've known for 20+ years, that Zager guitars made in Indonesia, and the finishing work is done in the USA -- in all fairness, the website may have changed since then. While you may not be, it sounds as though you're blaming Zager for people assuming the guitars are made in the USA. And for anyone's info, I own two Zager guitars (one, a ZAD50CE, & the Parlor E/N), and I enjoy the sound and playability of them both... even as an owner of a 1979 Martin D-28 & a 1991 Alvarez Yairi. The only "thing" I changed on my Zager boxes was the TUSQ saddle, which I replaced with bone; for me it has a much better sound (as long as the quality of the cut of bone is exceptional). Thank you for the opportunity to comment. - bro Paul -

Metallica used the Roland JC-120. I think the intro to Nothing Else Matters is the Roland, then the band Death used the Marshalls Valvestate amps. The Beatles used some kind of Vox solid State in 1967-68 which would be used in such things as the White Album.

I can't tell if you have the 1957 Reissue or the 9-hole-weight-relief Custom. You said it has the 60's neck style. My black beauty custom had a really nice fat neck (D-shaped I guess). Loved that neck but could not tolerate that guitar's overall weight. It weighed 12+ pounds despite the 9-hole-weight-relief!

I've followed Zager guitars for over two decades. Denny Zager is a musician and businessman, but no evidence that he's ever been a luthier. When Zager started, he would do a "Zager" modification on Martin's and other brands, which was just a very specific setup that I believe also involved custom string spacing... It's possible the company had some early prototypes ghost built by some factory in the USA, but as long as I can remember they have been Asian built in Indonesia, which means Cort or Samick is actually building them, just like they build most value guitars under $700. Zager has grown to the point that now they at least have their own designs and use nice pickups like that FIshman Aura in their guitars.... To nit-pick some false claims in their letter to you: Taylor guitars leads the industry on CNC milling and it's not just on their "high-end" guitars, it's something they use for every guitar they build, what Cort and Samick are doing doesn't come close.. The most tell-tale sign of a cheap guitar to me is a thick polyurethane finish, it's that hard clear gloss coat you can see your reflection in. That's a tone crusher. Even Taylor's cheapest models get a very thin patented UV polyester finish that is the closest thing to high end Nitro finish you can get and I think equal to it.... Also look at the back of that neck, it has a scarf joint where the headstock meets the neck, it's not one piece. There's nothing wrong with that, but that did lower the manufacturing cost a great deal... He mention's Bob Taylor's CNC milling. I'd ask if the Zager has a traditional glued in dove tail neck or if it's bolt-on. If it's bolt-on do they have a shim system like Taylor does to make neck resets easy? I'm sure they don't or they would advertise it and keep in mind, Taylor has had that advanced neck system for about 20 years now. When it comes to acoustic guitars, the value comes from the intellectual property like Taylor has, the traditional hand-built quality from small shops or the legacy and tradition of Martin and Gibson. Zager has nothing on the table in any of those categories. That doesn't mean Zager guitars are bad guitars, it just means they aren't special compared to competition and you would be wise to size up their guitars against less expensive offerings in your local Guitar Center that were probably built in the same factory in Indonesia. Also look at all that inlay work. Is it real mother or pearl, abalone or faux? If it's coming from Cort or Samick it's probably fake. When you're paying even $2-$3k for a guitar these are big details. Ultimately, if you love the guitar and you feel you paid a fair price, that's the end of the story. I don't mean to bash Zager, it's clear a lot of players like their guitars. I've only played one of their guitars and wasn't impressed in the least bit. It felt like a $500 guitar not a $3000 guitar. I think a lot of would-be Zager buyers don't realize how great of a guitar you can get these days for well under $1k. Just another company using a big builder in Indonesia to make guitars, putting nicer pickup systems and giving them nicer cases than Fender, Alvarez and other builders with similar product selling way under $1000 are doing. I think the pickup, tuners and case upgrades are the entirety of their novelty and I don't think that's worth what they are asking.

Fender London Reverb SS Amp was one of the worst amps I ever had...I hastily bought it to replace a sweet Fender 75 tube combo with a 15" speaker that was stolen and eventually traded it for a great sounding Peavey Special 130 and a digital delay.

The Crate brand has been on the shelf for close to 20 years now. I’ll be surprised if ANYBODY resurrects it again anytime soon. Ampeg is now owned by Yamaha, so they no longer have that influence to build their case with, either.

The only Solid state amp i own is a Line 6 Duo-verb 2x12 100w combo. The thing is amazing. It lets you model like 8 different amps and 8 different cabs. And then you can play through 2 different amps through each speaker or blend them together! Its a highly under the radar amp!

The affordable PRS guitars are made in Indonesia and I own 3 of them and they’re exceptional instruments. I also have a Zager ZAD 20 (purchased in 2012) and it’s very comfortable to play and sounds great. I really had to press, however, as to where it was made. I did receive an email from Dennis Jr. and he straight up told me the guitars are indeed made in Indonesia. The USA made acoustics have been way too high in price for most people to afford nowadays so I ordered my Zager due to their policy of paying the shipping both ways should I decide to return it. I was shocked at how comfortable it was to play and with the sound so I kept it and still have it to this day. With that said, I do wish they would be more transparent about the country of origin for their instruments. The Mexican made Taylor and Martin guitars are not bad either, nor are the Indonesian made Epiphone acoustics but they don’t play as comfortably as my Zager. Even the American Fender guitars now don’t say “Made in U.S.A.” on them because of a law in California that requires every component be made in the USA in order for the instrument to be labeled as such.

I have this pedal and I used to use it before I got my rams head big muff. But the pedal is best used when pushing a slightly dirty tone on the amp . It works great as a dirt boost. The volume head room was my only real issue and I never really used the octave part . But there are mods for this pedal all over the internet to improve it cheaply

I can't vouch for any of the guitars you just reviewed other than the First Act VW guitar. I have one and first of all it weighs in at a hefty 7.39 pounds. It just happened to be sitting right behind me as I was watching this video and my scale is hanging on my toolbox next to me so I checked. I bought it A month ago and it came with the original gig bag and seatbelt strap. I was skeptical but as it turned out it is a pretty decent guitar for the price. Under $200 shipped from Mass. to Tenn. I say I got a bargain on what will surely be a collectable some day. In the meantime I will play it along with all my other inexpensive guitars.
