Can someone explain to me all the hyped behind baldur gate 3. I agree the game has a lot of depth and looks great, but the combat looks god slow and terrible. Dragon Age orgins combat looks better and that came out like like 15 years ago.

The game is bad on purpose. See if you play dnd, which they said they heavily said they based this one on you know long sessions are not a good thing. This game isn't meant to be beaten in a short game span it's meant to take weeks to play they don't want you cheesing the game only one account so you don't save up rare items n give them to yourself in another account . they spent so much time turning a dnd campaign into an rpg it's not an rog anymore

“fast travel only bad if game boring” sounds nice as a soundbite but does not bear out in reality at all. Even in a game that’s fun to explore, sometimes fast travel is tedious in *real life minutes and hours* and is disrespectful to the player & their agency. what an open-world game dev should strive to do is make fast travel a reasonable option that the player *chooses not to do when walking the world is more fun.* DD2 has one of the least-fun open worlds to explore I’ve yet encountered in an open world RPG.

That man talking to his robot isn't exactly insane. He's struggling with combat related PTSD and feels like the only thing that understands him is a robot. I suffer from combat related PTSD myself, and I talk to my dog all the time. He doesn't respond, he just hears me. Maybe me and that shop owner are a little insane because personally it takes a special kind of stupid to jump out of airplanes like it did lol. Had this game in my library for, like, a year after my little bro got it for me. Why? Zoe being on the from page made me shy away from it... deadass serious. Anyway, I enjoyed this a lot. The few critiques I have aren't major and could move the game away from its main message like -wanting more characters to bump into with greater depth, especially for the original cast -longer time to spend with all characters -its very PG - definitely intended for a younger audience. Overall the graphic are ok, art style and ambience is great, and the music(synthwave) is phenomenal 7.5-8/10 it'd be awesome to see more of this world fleshed out or to see some kind of DLC pack. I liked the game but feel there's some loss of potential.
