Thank you for being the only person I see who thinks of it as I do. And exactly like you, I also heard the announcement for a Smile 2 and thought “wait, what could they possibly add to the lore?” and the answer is “nothing”. And I shouldn’t be disappointed, but I am because I WANTED this movie to surprise me or do something new but it doesn’t. As for the ending, oh boy, yeah. Like I kinda expected Morris (but sorry, he’s Dr. Chris Taub to me) to actually be able to help her, or I expected her to find a solution because seeing someone defeating this entity WOULD be news and make the watch worth it. But nope. And also, the way I feel about these movies as a whole is kind of complicated. Because I love horror, I love when horror has commentary, and I love when mental health is addressed in a way that doesn’t feel cheap. And I’ve been facing some lifelong mental health issues, and I know that if I wanted to feel good I wouldn’t have to watch horror movies, but… what these horror movies are saying is so irresponsible. Like yeah, your mental illness will always win, there is no way out, and even if you say “I’m in control, not you” that’s always gonna be just a delusion and the only inevitable way to end it is suicide? Really? Like… i don’t know man. And also, wrt the fact that the whole latter part of the movie is fake is so disappointing. Because I’m done with that bullshit too. It worked with Oculus, and that’s the only movie I’ve seen that pulled it off well, anything else is just an asspull in my opinion. Like, give me any other movie where they pull the rug with “none of that happened” that doesn’t feel like the writers were just lazy and not committed to writing something with real weight. Again, Oculus is the only movie I ever saw that did that consistently and where that feels earned, because the delusions actually do something in the characters’ real life. Anyway, I’m glad I was able to verify I’m not the only one feeling this way about this movie. Was starting to believe I am alone in this.

Hah, Truth or Dare was the first thing I thought of when watching the first one lol. I kinda wonder if the idea partially came from that lol. Truth or Dare was so amazing, though. One of my favorite so bad they circle all the way to good movies.

This was not an Excellent film however it was not too bad for a B movie. It was worth watching, I like the plot but the writers could've done a better job, it had some interesting moments. If you a movie ticket to watch it you will probably be disappointed but if you watch it free at movie night at home with your family it's all good. I give it a C+.

I'm not trying to be different, I gave the reasons the movie didn't work for me. We all have our own subjective preferences. "Just because there are too many jumpscares?" No..... that is not what I said at all. "Just enjoy what we got" I don't even know what this means. Enjoyment isn't a choice, and surely you know that because I assume there have been movies you haven't liked. It's all opinion.

I was disappointed that they killed Skye off and they let the demon win again at the end. I thought there was a chance she would defeat and kill the demon, but it didn't happen in the end. I was pissed off. Naomi Scott was amazing as Skye, but the ending was ruined.

It was schizophrenia. It had gone so long untreated that she was psychotic. Her kids developed it as well. The hand on Sam’s shoulder in the picture was showing that he has it also. When he said “she loves me more at the end, it was letting you know that he did say it earlier and was experiencing early symptoms.
@BoxOfChocolatez
@BoxOfChocolatez 4 күн бұрын
That's a fine theory I just don't like the way it's done in the film because it feels like they wanted to have it both ways. If we take it to represent schizophrenia then what does the other kid defeating the monster represent? Defeating schizophrenia? That's not how that works lol

I come to your videos frequently starting after you said you preferred Barbie over Oppenheimer because that tells me your reviews are genuine and I trust what you say. Not because I necessarily agree but because it would have been alot easier for you to say the opposite as most reviewers did.

I don’t think the forest was haunted. I think the evil entity was somehow attached to the mother. When Nolan locked her in the greenhouse, she said that she was the one who brought the evil there. Of course there was never an explanation as to how she did. Perhaps it had to do with her past? The snake tattoo…the way she said that she was once a different person…I just wish that part had been made clear. How exactly did she bring that evil there? And why exactly was the house their safe place? What was so special about it specifically? Just too many questions…

This is the kind of review I’ve been looking for. All my exact thoughts. I’m really frustrated with all the praise for this movie. How is everyone so pleased with a movie that takes back almost everything you’ve seen? Think about all the time spent on her and her best friend after they reconnected. Only to find out that it never happened. And we found that out during a sequence that also wasn’t happening? The smiling people jumping her in her apartment is the start of about 25 minutes of straight fakery up until she walks on stage. But people say this is better than the first and best of the year. How is this happening?

Everything about the movie was amazing EXCEPT for the character motivations and plot. Those are arguably the two most important things in a movie. If Shinkai gave Suzume (the character) some fleshing out... maybe she was anti-social, maybe she had a hard time developing relationships. Something to make her developing those relationships throughout the story MEAN something to the audience, it could have worked. By the end I kept asking myself "What was the point of this movie???". There were no lessons, there was no motivation, nothing mattered!

Many times better then fury road and furiosa. Also better than the first movie which was to slow in a large part of it.

Why do you think so? Fury Road and Furiosa genuinely have some of the best action filmmaking of all time. I don't see how anything in this movie compares.
@J.B.29
@J.B.29 Ай бұрын
The chase scenes were so over the top and so long they got boring. Fury road was just one long chase scene. At least in thunder dome you got some acting,and yes I know much of the action in the other movies was also over the top. Don't get me wrong,I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it in the first three especially. Maybe for me,mad max without Mel, just isn't a mad max movie.

I agree with your opinion on this one. I was looking forward to this one but was left very unsatisfied and with questions. I kept waiting to see them show how/why she killed her parents or the father of her children. At the point where she kills herself and leaves the kids to fend for themselves, it shot downhill fast. I feel like with something like that, that you probably didn't see coming, they could have done something darker or more interesting with the children fending for themselves, but no. I have questions, but honestly I'm not even that worried about having answers to them and I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone. It was just meh, and I would never watch it again.

I love the Disney movie Pinocchio!!! My favorite part is when Pinocchio gets bumped and squished by 2 Dutch puppets with their pushed-out butts at Stromboli's puppet show and then rhey go off of him and turn around and pick up their dresses and moves forward towards him and squishes him again!!! Lol

Jump scare merchants, and the smiles were cringe not scary, not sure why, in the first movie they looked more creepy. The scene with the mass of people in the apartment freezing was good and creepy, and the smashed face on the first guy was well done, apart from that it felt like cheap jump scares. It felt like the demon should have lost in this movie, I get what they were going for but it didn't feel well executed, more like a cheap bait and switch, everyone leaving the cinema was saying it wasn't as good as the first, some people were even laughing during some scenes that were supposed to be scary
