Hey BB, the city looks amazing. Loving the power lines. It adds another level to the realism and atmosphere of your city. I have a question……I noticed the Modular row and saw the third Lego official building Market Street. I built this modular out of my inventory of official Lego pieces. I used the official building instructions…..so…do I have an “official Lego modular….or, do I have a MOC?

Hi bevin! I just want to suggest a switch track to be added to the yard in the city! A railyard wouldn’t have such a long track going to the side of the shed that’s next to the station, so maybe adding a switch right before the shed and connecting back to the main track would help your track plan! (Now this is only a suggestion, it’s your city and you can do whatever you want with it! I just wanted to suggest this idea as a railroad enthusiast lol.) I love your videos! Keep up the good work!

(Lotta reading incoming 😂) I don't usually see people do power lines in their cities, it's a great extra addition that adds that needed realism and detail! I know the official modular buildings are "overdone" in cities, but at this point it's just an iconic thing to have in a lego city. Personally some of my favorite sets, and I'm sure alot of other people's favorites. So how could someone NOT want to put it in their city! Haha. Definitely wish you luck with the angling in your city! I can only think of one other person on youtube who's done angles. Brickcrafts. Maybe can take some inspiration from his work if you get stuck. Also, the idea of a skyscraper skyline sounds awesome!
@MayoHosko8 сағат бұрын
Those angled suburbs of your city will be fun. People don’t like seeing sets in a city but unless you’re strictly MOC only a lot of sets are too good not to put in a city

The attention to detail is amazing, and the larger skyscraper buildings are really impressive, I've got to say I've been enjoying your take on small town/rural areas. It's kind of nice to see a layout that isn't overly crowded, utilizes the modulars, and is achievable for the average lego fanatic. 😊 That being said, if you want to add the bigger builds to the back ground, do what makes you happy, we're all just along for the ride and enjoying every minute of it.

I like Lego a lot and see various Lego channels on You Tube. Your technique is unsurpassed as is your dedication to lighting. One question, though: Is it possible ti use something different for the cables connecting the regular lighting poles? The reason I'm asking is because that is the only thing that doesn't look realistic. I know I'm nit-picking. Apart from that everything else is top-notch.

Awesome update, glad to see your thinking about putting your bigger tall buildings back in the city. They have been some of my favorites that you made and the smaller city seen is perfect of a small country city. 😁👍

Just a thought, Daryl, think about the prospective you are viewing your city from. If you are focused on a realistic look, do not put your skyscrapers in the background. If you want to create the illusion of depth, use smaller, less detailed builds with muted colors in the background. The skyscrapers, in my opinion, should be placed in the foreground and have many details. It's nice to look at a city build and see little scenes that tell a story. Mixing scales can really trick the mind into thinking the city display is much larger. You have made some amazing builds over the years and are a huge asset to the Lego community! Build on Brother!

I’ve always wondered, why on earth do you have 2 channels?? Maybe I missed you explaining it at some point but to me it just felt a bit confusing, 2 channels about basically the same stuff with the same logo?

For your high voltage lines, I'd like to recommend using the string from the Lego DOTS set . . . I was going to use some craft string for my own project, but I was delighted to find a sizable length of gray string that is an authentic Lego product. Your project looks fantastic!

So maybe add, surf board, food and swimsuit shops ?

Yes sir and a pastel aesthetic to them. Also we have plenty of palm trees lining the sidewalks into the shops so that can really bring your build together. Anyways fantastic work keep it up!

Looks great. Do you ever consider using Lego alternatives for large quantity part projects (like the wheat field) or do you like to keep the actual Lego as pure as possible, or is it more convenient to get it from Lego themselves?
@BevinsBricks15 күн бұрын
I typically use all official parts, but here recently I have started using alt parts as yes some are cheaper and just as good quality. When I use offbrand of which I sell some custom stuff on my website also, like ballast train plates and also cutom printed parts, I prefer to use offbrand as they are cheaper to source. When I do use offbrand I get most from webrick.

The scooby-doo speed had me cracking up. Great video Daryl, city is looking awesome! Friendly tip for anyone out there that wants to do their own stickers: For software, you can use Inkscape. It's free and provides a ton of features. It also uses vector art methods so the art can be scaled up or down infinitely. For the actual stickers, you can print them out on regular paper, cover over them with clear packing tape, cut them out and finally use a washable glue stick to create the "adhesive" and apply them.
