How does camping work do you need to reserve spots if so how do I do that? Also how many spots are along the way when acceding the actually peak?
@Beyond_The_Treeline4 күн бұрын
@@Blackbelt_97 no permits needed. It’s all just wild camping. So you’ll see spots that people continue to use, but there aren’t any facilities. Best practice is to reuse sites that are clearly used. You’ll see plenty on this trail all along the way. There aren’t really any sites above treeline though. So climbing the peak is easiest to do as a day hike from your camp. I usually try to camp at the lakes or rivers. Then you’ll have plenty of water and wood for a fire. If you go you’ll have to let me know! And if you have any other questions let me know. @alexbrandon2193Ай бұрын
@@Beyond_The_Treeline I’ve done small parts of Superior hiking trail over the years. Mostly to get to different peaks and overlooks. Hard to say what’s the best part. Really an endless number of overlooks and spur trails that go up to different peaks. Carlton peak and Waterfalls at Temperance river state park and High falls at Tettegouche state park are must sees. This past trip I was mostly in Tettegouche State park along the coast and inland to see high falls. Only one part of SHT goes directly along the lake, although you get great views of it from SHT, so I definitely recommend people do some stops along the coast like mount Josephine near the Canadian border or the cliffs at Palisade head and shovel point in Tettegouche. These are not on the Sht but a short to moderate hike from the car.
