I appreciate Shopdap responding to my question. I do have a Unitronic stage 1 tune. But I don’t beat on or race my car. I did try some Lucas high viscosity oil stabilizer and got that code close afterward. I use Liqui Moly Molygen oil and change obsessively every 5k miles. The code went away after next oil change. I think the Lucas altered the viscosity which tripped the code. I use an OBDeleven scanner and have not had the issue since oil change. I think I’ll steer clear of testing additives moving forward.

Update on my question to this video. I spent $100 to buy a new VVT solenoid and $85 labor to have it installed during my oil change. Code went away. Not sure if not fixing this in time is related to my newly discovered beginning of chain stretch. That will be a chain replacement kit from FCPeuro for $600 plus $1,000 for labor. But car drives nice with 183k miles.

I had a static P151E00 code on my Audi S3 8V (2014) ~52k miles a few weeks ago. I cleared the fault code using OBD Eleven and topped my engine oil level up which was slightly low (not quite below the marker but getting towards it) with Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL (recommended oil for the S3). The code hasn't reappeared since so I'm hoping the volume was the issue and this has solved it 🤞

HI! GFF in ODIS recommends to check the tension of the timing chain. In gen3 1.8 skoda octavia we found out that chain tensioner is extended for its maximum lenght. So i think that "reduced speed treshold.... is just an incorrect descritpiton for an emergency mode.

There has to be more information on this. I’ve done timing recently and still getting this fault under hard acceleration. Sounds like multiple DSG farts in one along with the car refusing to upshift. If i ease into the throttle i find that it’ll gradually pick speed as normal.

For 4000 oil pressure failure, you must first of all make sure of the type of oil. I recommend 20W50. I wish everyone good luck

Final update. My chain was WAY stretched. There a circular cap that can pop off on passenger side of engine allowing you to view the chain tensioner. Mine was pushed out 7 threads aka looser than a Las Vegas hooker. Dealer wanted $2500, my Orange County VW shop charged $1350 for parts and labor. Dealer said code was the low pressure switch overcompensating for the chain stretch. As mentioned below I also replaced the $100 solenoid on side of engine. So I think thats it.

Any update to any specifics on what causes this? Taken car to two different dealers they cant figure it out. They say the car drives fine, but it does not. This code is ruining my life lol

Regarding P151E code - master tech suggested that’s usually due to VVT solinoid on passenger side of engine. It has 3 holes that adjust oil spray on cams. It’s been 15k miles and I still haven’t had it properly checked. But master technician said 1st step is to get an oil pressure test. So I’ll let you know after that. The code only appeared on my OBDeleven scanner - never a light on my dash. I am curious to fix, but now with 180k miles had to replace shocks, brakes, tires and now leaking oil pan tomorrow.

Literally same car here and I'm getting this for the last month or so. Have you found a fix?
