@J.Lulo_3 күн бұрын
You shouldn’t have a white line if it’s done right. Sometimes depending on the color and where you did the blend it might leave a faint hazy line on the edge of the blend but if you polish it and give it a nice glaze it should go away.

If you’re doing blends at dealers make sure that the tires and wheels don’t have any tire shine. Also make sure to clean your panels thoroughly with wax and grease remover to avoid having those kinds of problems. Don’t just clean the blend area clean the whole panel.

I used a touch up paint kit(rattlecan) to paint match some plastic on my truck but the base coat is way too white, it doesnt really have that creme coloring to it
@J.Lulo_12 күн бұрын
You might have to get the paint mixed by the manufacturers color code for it to match your truck. You can also try polishing the fenders to see if it brightens up the white color. White colored cars can become dinghy over time.

Hi, I l know you have answered but slightly confused. Could I ask if you don't mind please. When you have a brand new panel (before attaching it) you prime, base and clear coat. How do you blend it to other panels next to it? And when doing smart repair on small damage area. Do you sand damage area, then fill and sand. Then 1000 grit entire panel. Then prime damaged area, then base coat damage area but flick it so abit goes on other panel. Then clear coat it all? Thankyou!

Great video, thanks. I’ve watched a few different videos of this technique and I noticed that you were the only I’ve seen who applied the blender after the clearcoat was dry. The other examples I’ve seen all showed the same thing you did, except the blender was applied immediately after the final coat of clearcoat - while the clearcoat was still wet. Have you done it both ways, and found your way works better? I like your way because then you would not be rushed for time to quickly apply the blender. Thanks again for the video.
@J.Lulo_19 күн бұрын
I actually apply the blender while the clear is still wet. The blender works best when it is applied immediately after you apply your last coat of clear coat.

We used to use something called clear coat blender but there was no clear coat just on the acrylic lacquer paint. You had to set the pressure to 70 lbs pray and run when you sprayed it because runs were so common. Like water. It did shine. Then last was buffing. I'm going to try your method. I have some spots on the roof of my car where birds liked to use it. I just want to touch up those spots. Your videos are really great!!!! Thank you! Forgot to mention that was years ago like 40.
@J.Lulo_22 күн бұрын
I’ve definitely heard about that method with some guys I’ve worked with. One time I was asked to blend the door on a work truck because my boss didn’t want to clear coat the whole door because it had a lot of damage and we wanted to color match the new fender we where putting on the truck and painting. The blend I did actually came out pretty good and the color matched perfectly so sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

@@J.Lulo_ I used a Rattle can Duplicolor on my hood and deck panel. Between the first and second coat I used 6K sand paper lightly to smooth out the hot spots. Then I used two coats of Eastwood clear coat. The color matches and after wet sanding with 3000 and 5000 and polishing it still doesn't have the shine. I ran out of options.
@J.Lulo_21 күн бұрын
You might have to use regular clear coat and not aerosol. The aerosol clear works pretty good for small jobs but for big panels like a hood and a deck lid you might want to use regular clear coat that gets sprayed with a spray gun if want a good shine.
