Man, watching you choke up about the passing away of your cat.... really got to me. I have a sick cat at the moment and the prognosis is not great. I think I am going to go through that grim rite of passage you unfortunately had to go through. And IT IS HARD. People don't get it! These creatures are part of our EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. LIVES. For over a decade! Anyway, you got me choked up. You owe me a burger.

I lost every animal I've ever had to death or just unseen circumstances. I've become so desensitized too the loss of a pet. So to see you get emotional over your pet, really invokes a lot of empathy for you. Good to see people actually generally care about their animals.

Last year just few days before Christmas we had to do same thing for our cat, because of complete kidney failure, it was so devastating after 16 years him being member of our family, our kids grew with him playing. Especially it was hard for my daughter, she's been crying for few months, and even now every time she's remembers him, she falls in tears. So I definitely feel your pain, after so many years it's like loosing a child. Very sad.

Mate, I started watching your channel just after we bought a basket case house here in the northwest UK. We did as much as we could ourselves, got trades in where it passed my skill level, learned loads, went way over budget. Panicked, went over budget again. FIlled about 60 tonnes of skips myself, lost weight, lost sleep, gained experience. It was a year of total disruption for the family. Looking back on it all now its a few years in the past, it just seems a blip in our lives - a family of four were living on matresses in the one habitable room in the house for a few months. You'll look back at it all in a few years time and realise just how hard you worked to get where you are today. Absolutely love this channel! Edit! Second favourite band ever is from Chicago. Alkaline Trio.

I am so sorry to hear about Karma cat, no doubt losing our little furballs is just completely heartbreaking. An "Urban Green Roof" project would be timely and really cool to see. It would also open up lots of opportunities to partner with some other Tubers and suppliers. When you did your first roof projects I kept thinking how cool it would be to see actual grass and other fauna growing on the roof.
@fredericapanon2072 жыл бұрын
@Eric Gilbreath, an urban green roof would be very cool. I would caution that engineering work is required prior to account for the increased loads from dirt, plants and water, and just activities on the roof. Most rooves are not designed for those loads so structural reinforcements will likely be necessary. The nice thing about a green roof is that it would help to mitigate the urban island heat effect, a good thing with climate change continuing unabated.
@1973anacryon2 жыл бұрын
@@fredericapanon207I totally agree both on the engineering prep requirements and the heat/carbon sink mitigation effects. My overall point was that it would present Modustrial with a ton of opportunities for individual videos and for partner sponsorship videos. I think it would bring new people to the channel and new eyes to the cool stuff Mod does as well as the overall topic of "urban green spaces".

I've been watching you from the start, being in Australia, your content during lockdowns was a blessing. This, video, is up there was one of your best. It takes a lot to expose a lot of content and personal information, but thankyou for sharing. Man, I couldn't hold back the tears when you mentioned your cat. I lost a cat the same way and he was about 16 years old. We have two rescue cats now and they bring a lot of joy. Thank you again, I've used your videos to inspire my own house renovations and ideas.

16:59 so sad man... I had to put my 10yr old dog to sleep cus of liver sickness a couple of weeks ago... is tough, it still breaks me to think about him... but is comfortable to reminisce the good times, is what's worth, remember that :)

I loved the photos you shared of Karma. I'm sorry you lost him, but glad that you had many happy years together and that you have those memories still. I hope that when you're ready, the perfect dog buddy is waiting for you to experience that wonderful love again. Building a garden on the roof for a dog to be able to enjoy sounds like an awesome but seriously huge project! I don't doubt that if you decide to do it though, you're definitely up to the challenge. It's lovely that you and Kat have remained friends even though your romantic relationship has ended. Thanks for sharing. I think you are right in that there is a little bit of necessity in sharing some of your personal life, because we relate to you on a personal level and keep watching not only because of the stuff you make but also because of the whole person we perceive you to be - relationships, pets, other interests, etc. Knowing how to find the right balance between sharing enough that you're not a closed book and not so much that you feel too exposed and lacking in privacy is what I imagine to be one of the hard parts of a job like yours. I know it is something that other KZbinrs I watch have mentioned struggling with sometimes. I didn't quite have the impression of Chicago as being the hotbed of crime and danger that you described some people seem to think - I wouldn't expect it to be any more or less dangerous than any other US city. The one thing I have heard about Chicago though is FAR more controversial than the pineapple on pizza debate and that's that you all put the cheese and sauce on the pizza the wrong way around?! That's not really pizza, then, is it? 😂

So sorry to hear about your Kitty Companion. I know how tough it is to go from having someone always there for comfort. Last year my pup that was with me for 16 years passed, and this past valentine I had to let my 14 year old cross the bridge as well.

Whoa Mike, you have had a big year. Your surgery, breaking up with Kat and losing your beloved pussycat plus all the renos. I am really sorry to hear that you and Kat have broken up, glad that you are still friends though. I can totally relate to your distress over losing your cat. I had to put my baby to sleep about 10 years ago due to cancer and to this day I cry when I think about those last minutes with her and having say goodbye. Gut wrenchingly heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing yourself with us and letting us get to know you a bit better. I look forward to your tribute video. P.S You have done a bloody good job turning that old abandoned building into your home and workshop, well done.

I love your sink designs and the tables that you made, it’s so satisfying to watch from start to finish. A break is in order for sure, i know what it’s like to put in 70-80 hours a week and it feels terrible after a while.

I immediately felt your loss when you shared about karma cat 😢. I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s so hard to loose our furry loved ones, they hold such deep places in our hearts. My little kitty of 9 lays on my lap as I watched this video and he is my little light and love, I hope I can be lucky to have another 9 years with him as well. I hate that dogs and cats just never live long enough, but I’m also grateful in a way because I’ve gotten to meet and love so many dogs and cats in just my 33years. I’m excited for you to be thinking of getting a dog, and I look forward to future videos on this and for a doggie to get a loving home with you.
