Nice Job Sir. Do you regret leaving your posts so short? I always go with 10’ posts on 36” post embedment. You don’t need to and shouldn’t match the top stringer height. It leave far too much free moving picket above the top rail. Just saying.

If you can’t stain or paint any of your pickets, you should’ve put in Cedar or put in vinyl because all your boards are gonna turn that color dry rock color wow HOA suck sorry for you. Nice video.

This is great for low voltage stuff provided you are not in rocky soil. Most electric lines need to be 24"+ inches deep. I don't think that tool will do it.

811 is a joke. Just had them out to mark the underground power lines before we replace the posts on my MILs fence. We needed to go two feet deeper than the existing ones. Flags were placed a good 18 inches away from the fence. Guess what we hit halfway thru our fence? Thankfully we were digging by hand with a phd and didn't cut thru anything!

Yep they have been wrong most of the time. They traced one cable line to the underground electrical box. Thanks for watching.

The chairs on the metal concrete cage are to keep it in the middle of the concrete and to try to mitigate the rusting of rebar inside the concrete. By suspending the rebar with rebar with rebar you’ve just made it easier for the rebar to rust. When rebar rusts in destroys the concrete. Should’ve just used a couple of rocks or something the suspend your metal fencing in the concrete. You could have saved some time just bending the metal fencing into a rectangular box and securing it with ties

Too much. Form release? Where is the tension load on a curb under a fence? This is not OCD. It is something else.

Does the visibility of the line improve outdoors if you hold a shade over the expected target point? I'm thinking of something like a cardboard box maybe a foot square with part of the front and all of the back cut out. That would block out a lot of the sunlight. Just wondering...🤔

The thing about cable is that it goes bad a lot when buried. Any water or heavy moisture that enters the cable from either end will kill your high freq signals (internet and high tv channels). It can last a long time, but its just a matter of time. As a cable tech about 10 years ago I would run a new drop almost always on a hookup or even trouble calls.

The gentle curve is good for rf cable. A sharp curve can interrupt the signal. Source: former cable guy.

25 years ago i used 1 1/2 inch emt conduit for fence post on my fence. i just recently was back in the neighborhood and stopped at the old home. the posts are still standing straight and they are doing well. i drove them in with a t-post driver.

Periodically spritzing the cutting tool and PVC fitting with cool water using a hand spray bottle may keep both the tool and fitting cool. If the PVC and cutting tool gets too hot, the PVC can begin to soften and melt increasing the torque required to cut the PVC.

ATT vs code maybe different. I was once licensed as a cable installer. Basically it was below sod was code from what I recall 20 yrs ago. As if everyone does things by code. Electrical and any piping, I always do to NEC code as a dyi guy or any times I help others. I force it. But cable. Idk. That means nope.

Now just paint all the metal bronze color and put self closing hinges on lol. I’m wondering why you didn’t do feathers after the tar? lol. You and i are very similar but you’re a little crazier in the OCD than me. The tar on everything above the ground has me baffled a bit. I live in Florida and i can’t even see how it would make a fence last longer. I don’t think i wouldve have welded the aluminum-it would just be brackets or face plate supports like our pool screen rooms in Florida -tho the welding does give it a cleaner look. I would’ve stuffed some wood in the end of some joints of the joints and ran a bolt thru to connect and strengthen a lot of joints-in the end I’d have more of a gap all the way around the frame but that gap gets covered by wood slats. But your idea worked great-my patience adhd and OCD would be colliding with project. But it looks awesome and really is easy but i think it probably scared some ppl watching it because you are showing such detail. Ppl probably think you are screwing up but you are showing the custom process that ppl don’t see a contractor do out in their yard and no 2 jobs would be the same.

Some ppl would probably say this will be me when I’m older. I can see it a little. Let’s give a hand to this guy and his age and be able to do this and do it to the extreme. You can see a little bit of arthritis getting him on the way up and down but he’s not letting it stop him and to every one out there that’s what you do when arthritis is trying to turn you into stone and live your life by the saying -“Don’t ever sit down-you might never get back up” This is major overkill and that’s fine it’s his, there’s a ton of people who have tried to beat the system but it never works lol. I’ve been predicting just about everything this dude was going to add as he went. This will be solid and nice but probably add 1-2 yrs or longer depending on many factors. There’s a reason it eventually goes back to the old easy way because you don’t gain much for all your effort-nature wins. Those pound in metal posts I’m going to try on one side of my yard and see how long they last. There’s a hand held machine that pounds them in 3-4 feet and they’re heavy duty-easy to replace if something went wrong and you don’t use cement. Just so ppl know i live in Florida and we have sandy soil-we on,y set them down in 2 feet and most ppl only cement the end posts or gate posts. I cement about every 4-5 posts. Both fences last the same thru nature and storms and we get major storms. In a crazy storm there might be one panel that has issue and that’s just if the storm is wild. So it doesn’t take what you think it does. Sometimes the stiffer something is the more the wind pushes it. That’s why palm trees don’t fall they flex and big oak trees don’t flex and so they fall. A little flexing actually helps. Just think of your body-you stiffen up someone can push you over or you have some give to you and you will absorb them pushing on you. This guy must be bored AF because I’m typing this as he talks and i can’t believe how little he’s actually done and all the unnecessary work but I’m all for him trying all this with his time ,money and back so I’ll watch the whole thing because he deserves it for all this effort-his wife must be shaking her head inside the house and probably heard 17 versions of this project and how he’s going to do it and then changed it and runs it by her and she has to pretend to be into it. lol. Anyway I’m curious and he’s now put a lot of pressure on himself to have this be perfect. It will barely last longer but don’t tell him. Let the country boy science think it beat the system.

You're an absolute fucking moron. This is how cable companies bury cable idiot! I've done it for ten yrs! We use machines with a blade that vibrates and doesn't dig up the ground and plants the cable in the slot and we also use those same shovels to hand trench. So fucking stupid.
