Hey partner. I’m in San Antone and I’m pretty sure the HOA rule that says no stains is for fence that can be seen from the street. In my back yard I can stain as I please. Might wanna ck on that.

One of the things you should do is hose down your fence fist and let it dry a little, not completely dry, just damp. Then stain it. The top board took so many coats probably because it was bone dry.

He saved a lot of money. I love it. Paint company cost you $900 and they wouldn’t do half the job.

I wonder if the pressure washer would of taking off any chalk lines if you would have used that for nail placement??

It would have but I may have had to get too close to the pickets to get it off and if you do that it WILL tear up the wood and will make it stick out like a sore thumb. Thanks for watching

What's the thinking by the ridiculous HOA in demanding you don't stain the fence? Are they afraid the fences in the neighborhood might not be all the same color? What kind of narrow-minded authoritarians would ever serve on a HOA board anyway? Proper little goose-steppers.

HOA tells your subdivision also controls what you do in your backyard? My understanding was only the front.

Totally depends on the hoa but yes, a lot of them do.
