This is hooked up wrong. You have to put catch can in series meaning you cut the accordion style hose off and hook up catch can hoses in its place. That’s why you won’t get any oil in the cans.

Yeah, loud but not great. It's amazing how the cross-flow exhaust manifold kills the "V8" burble Also fun to see the two White X5, and how much better looking the E70 body is, specially the X5M. In my opinion its one of the best looking SUV's ever

Great info! Congrats on the 1k subs! On your F14 wheels what offset/backspacing did you go with. Also did you have to ask for the proper hub bore size?

Hey! Thanks! Fronts are 20x10.5 +40 Offset, and Rears are 20x11 +42 Offset. No, with these specs, the hub bore for the rear was 72.56mm by default.

I have re-used my reinforcement plate bolts multiple times, probably not a good idea :D

I have too 😂 but it's not a good idea. Bolts that have tightening torque and degrees specs are stretched or de-shaped - may appear to be the same to naked eye, but aren't.

Subscribed. Just bought a 2012 X5M. 102k miles . It’s in great condition sounds great and it’s fast but I have a ticking sound I hear from underneath. Don’t hear it when I’m driving, just idling. I know the injectors tick a lot on top but this don’t feel related. Would love for you to have a listen.

So to be specific, with my x5 when its idling or driving in very low speed blue smoke comes out however if I pick up speed the blue smoke stops. Can u please give advice

Either the PCV system or vacuum leaks, BMW engines are very finicky when it comes to vacuum or crankcase pressure. 1. Inspect your PCV lines, they tend to become brittle due to heat cycles and break, if PCV lines are good. 2. Check PCV checkvalves - they tend to fail and lock in either open or closed position, you can clean them w/ brake clean, if that works it might save you $500 on PCV system. 3. Do a smoke test for vacuum leaks.

Can bad index 11 injectors wash down cylinder walls and dilute the oil in the sump? I know fuel inside oil is highly volatile.

If they're bad and leaking, absolutely - they can kill your engine. Fuel does make its way to the oil over a period, hence the shorter oil change intervals, the better it is for the engine.

Thanks - everything was under $2,000 and was bought used from someone parting a unit. The cost depends on used parts, really. There are some sets on eBay for $1,500.

Hey, just bought an x5m on Saturday. My daily is a 335i that makes well north of 600hp. That being said I love the x5 but its sound is muted and I’d like slightly more power from it. Are you running downpipes? If so from where and where did you get it tuned?

Hey - yes, I'm running downpipes and they're custom made, also running a custom tune by RR Tuning, Poland. There are plenty of options, I have heard VRSF are the best in terms of fitment.

Yes all BMW’s will develop oil and coolant leaks. I had a first year N55.

All vehicles will develop oil and coolant leaks, not just BMW. Turbocharged engines just make this worse because of the heat they make. Not to mention the engine is covered by plastic in every place possible, they run the oil hot as hell for emissions reasons, same with coolant. I almost passed out the first time I drove my n54, watching oil temps at 240 just sitting at a light, coolant at 230. Turns out that is "normal". Don't think many rubber gaskets can endure that kind of punishment daily for a 100k miles. Then we turn around and add 50% more power, push turbos to the edge of their maps, run shit gas like 91, it's honestly amazing that the cars are as reliable as they are. If you cannot fix cars, don't have deep pockets. Lease a new one, or buy a Toyota.

It’s much slower than the newer models, but is still decent and significantly cheaper to buy, best bang for your bucks, minus maintenance costs 🎉

Thanks for the run down. I have a bit of a smoky exhaust after about half an hour in traffic only. The right exhaust only. I recently change turbos and manifolds to F10 and machined the inlets to fit OEM fittings. Lots more midrange and sounds better. The smoke I am checking and thinking its either turbo start of problems or PCV valve. Now after watching your video I will check every vacuum line again just in case. Thanks.
