I was there from 92-95… end of Cell and 95% of Majin Buu. I recorded all I saw, including a bunch of reruns of the original show. I still have those tapes. Wonder if they’ve degraded too much…

I do still wonder if we'll get to see tate on this, and if it'll look good. I feel like tate tends to work best when he gets to really warp the characters and emphasize the cartoony squash and stretch of characters. But with how heavily corrected everything in this show is I wonder if we'll get to see him shine. Just some thoughts

As a fan of both Shintani and Nakatsuru, this episode was a joy to look at… and while I personally preferred the Shintani original, non Nakatsuru corrected images you showed… that isn’t necessarily because I thought Nakatsuru’s corrections are bad. On the contrary, they were great. I simply prefer the older Dragon Ball style and Shintani’s style from DBS Broly than the modern Toriyama art style that Daima is basing its art on. That being said, the modern Toriyama art style is working wonderfully in Daima, and Shintani and Nakatsuru simply made this episode pop. I still come back to it sometimes because it’s just that good.

Stop overrating this. This fight was not worth the wait. Goku was never in trouble and it was another free win for him, wasnt even half the episode. This anime has a slow start just like GT but will it end strong like GT? We'll have to wait and see.

GT had a tear jerker ending, great music and it's got nostalgia going for it... but objectively speaking it was never very strong.

@@enorma29 Its not a tear jerker ending. Goku in the end ascends beyond and becomes an omni-present Guardian of Earth and an occasional wish granter. Does it flat out state that? No. But A Hero's Legacy basically implies that and that honestly is the perfect way to end Dragon Ball. What does Daima have? It doesn't even have hype. It has an extremely slow paced storyline and Goku overpowers everything. We dont even know if he can even go Super Saiyan 3 yet because he just hasn't even needed it yet. What is good about this show besides it being new? And they plan on bringing Majin Buu it looks like? Isn't that just going for nostalgia? GT had its own villains lol.

GT’s ending sucks. When Goku gets to atone for everybody’s mistakes (looking at you, Bulma) and simply peaces out without much care for his sons (and the family he died twice to protect) you can see through all the attempts to tug at you feelings. No wonder Toriyama disregarded it.
