I think these have to be the best beginners tutorials on the Tube. I've even taken some pin sharp images on Manual, because Paul shows how the Camera tells you how to balance an exposure. Sure, it'll take practice to use M and Priority modes consistently well, but I'm no longer using preset Canon dials like Portrait and Landscape. I gave up a few years ago after relying on these, they're not much better than Auto IMO. I've taken some great night time practice shots with Tv and Av priorities. Also finding daytime shots so much easier now, keeping ISO low and then only having to manage 2 variables. Just waiting for my nifty 50, so I can get better quality shots.

Got the nifty 50 at your suggestion and a lot of blurry images. Do you need to use a tripod when using this lens?
@photogeniusАй бұрын
No tripod required unless you are using a slow shutter speed. If you are getting blurry images then it's worth checking. couple of things. Firstly make sure the switch on the lens is set to AF (not MF which is manual focus). Next try adjusting the aperture, wide open (f1.8) will give you a shallow depth of field (blurry background and foreground), so try f8 for a sharper image.

Talking confusion?? my Canon t2i has gone crazy mid-trip and all of a sudden got an issue with auto focus using the kit lens. It does focus on the "extremes" - at the 18mm and 55mm but seem to have difficulty to auto-focus in between these focal points (it's a hit or miss situation. not always buy annoying enough). HELP! THANKS

That part about adjusting what you see on the back screen is a life (battery) saver! Thanks so much. Moving from my 90D to R7 has been my biggest annoyance. The poor battery life, but this should make a massive difference thanks

Why should you not use VR if your camera is on a tripod?
@nightwolf15922 ай бұрын
I believe that the image stabilisation may search for vibration that doesn’t exist, due to the tripod and attempt to compensate for it.
