Something i don't see talked about with the reactions are the _actual_ in character thought processes in the moment, not just the totality of their path to forgiveness. This is why i don't think hero would dare lay an aggressive mark on sunny. He is simply not the kind of person to come to anger like that and the only time he did was through months of heavily repressed emotions in a moment that was likely traumatic for him. That's not to say he would truly forgive them both right away, though. I think hero would initially comfort and "forgive" sunny and basil. He knows they've suffered as much as him if not more and knows that mari would want them to stick together, not to mention how he would also want to avoid the mistakes he still made long ago. It would only be _after_ sunny leaves that the gravity of what they did starts getting to him. He'd feel at least some level of resentment for what they did and even resent himself for daring to feel that way. He would attempt to keep it all inside but it would likely end up in another kel moment, probably with aubery or basil or even sunny if he ever visits. I do think hero would forgive them 100%, but only after coming to terms with HIS feelings.

I’d wager Basil’s tendency to get overly attached to things is directly tied to his parents being absent. Whether they died, disappeared, or are just always away for work, their absence might explain why Basil is so anxious and clings to the things and people he has, for fear of losing them like he lost his parents.

I don't think Basil saw the right events. To him Sunny PUSHED Mari but from Sunny's perspective it would be more likely that Mari grabbed him telling him she wasn't done talking and Sunny not comfortable with getting grabbed suddenly like that tried to throw her grip off himself. Resulting in what happened. It was an ACCIDENT not on purpose. Basil mistook An Accident as a murder. And it's more likely that Mari was still ALIVE but unresponsive due to the blow to the head she could've had. They were kids so "Unresponsive" could just be "SHE'S DEAD ?!" to them. Meaning the Fall didn't kill her........ The Tree and Rope dod 😰

You mentioning that Sunny was trying to run down the stairs in the middle of the fight, and Mari stepped in front of her, made me realize that it was never Sunny's fault... Sunny feels a guilt that is not his, he didn't push Mari down the stairs, Mari just simply stepped in front of him as he ran quickly, and that was a VERY bad idea. I'm not blaming Mari, because maybe she knew that Sunny could get hurt if she ran down the stairs, In other words... All of this is definitely the stairs' fault!

Kel needs to cry, I like that he is "positive", but I believe that crying can take away some of the pain that he hides inside him. I found it kind of sad that Kel and Hero's parents just completely ignored Kel while Hero was fighting with him... But at least Hero realized this and hugged Kel too.

I have a hunch that Basil has developed mild schizophrenia in those four years, because Basil always asks Sunny if he sees something behind him, but most of the time, There's nothing behind Sunny. Basil seems to have more mental problems than Sunny sometimes... But Sunny also sees things, so I assume that the trauma of both of them affected their minds so much that it made them both develop Schizophrenia. Or maybe Basil and Sunny is just so pure that he has the ability to see spirits, just like cats and dogs who say they can see spirits. (I also found a very well done detail at the end of the game, we know that throughout the game, Sunny's pupils are completely empty, without that white part in the middle, but in the last cutscene of Good Ending, we can see that the white part appears in Sunny's pupil, representing that he managed to get rid of this guilt, And we also see that the Something that was around Basil in bed disappears, representing that he also managed to overcome all of this)..

Instead of the shitty omori manga we deserved a prequel that explores what you are saying, maybe explore more autism and its struggles to keep the omori "saga" as a game about psychology. There are a thousand ideas that can come when we explore the idea of a prequel. Like his friends contrast to his dreams, how imperfect it was but how important it was etc etc.
