The Shortest distance between two points on the surface of a sphere are Two Geodesic Arcs equidistant in lenght and a Mirror image of each other unless the points are 180 degrees apart Antipodes (POLES). Then its one line around the meridan only .(The only real great circle route )....This does not happen in Reality esp with flight routes ......Its Flat

One of the consequences of this result is that an n-sided polygon has interior angles that add to 180*(n-2) degrees

Given a number n, is there a way to know that it is a square pyramidal number without having to solve the cubic equation n(n+1)(2n+1)/6?

I don't understand why are we making this semicircle can somebody explain?
@eliotvarda
@eliotvarda Ай бұрын
Him making a semicircle is not the point of crucial importance. The point of crucial importance is if everything he stated was true, which i think it is. But in any case, he used semicircle as a way of presenting the proof, an analogy for easier understanding could be: you can choose to represent pythagorean theorem through making a square out of each side, add the two smaller ones and see that it is equal to the area of the square of the largest side(hypothenuse) if the right angled triangle, or you can do the same with half circles of which sides of triangle are perimeters, result is the same, ...
