I adore Micanopy! I use to be in Law Enforcement and lived in Gainesville, Florida for many years. I fell in love with this tiny town. On my days off, I journey many a day, here. Shopping at antique stores and having lunch. I never knew it was founded by a group of Jewish folks. Me being Jewish, I may have to come back there for a renewal of spirit.🇮🇱🕎it is Hanukkah these days!❤ thank you for the beautiful tour..

Nice video buddy, I really enjoyed it. I have never heard of that town. Is Micanopy a nice place to visit for the day? Is there enough to do there to make it worth going to. I live in Naples so it’s about 260 miles away. Thanks again for posting it.

I love Micanopy. I live in Gainesville, Florida, only about 20 minutes from my house. Thank you for featuring Micanopy in your vlog. However, I was disappointed that you didn't feature the Herlong Mansion Bed and Breakfast. I have overnighted there and enjoyed it very much. The breakfast they served was outstanding! ❤

This is a terrible video. Small towns are not about the buildings they are about the people. And he spends no time talking to the people. No interviews no nothing.

Sorry you got heckled. You handled it as gracefully as possible. Another great video. Love the stats & history you include, as well as the drive arounds. The blue houses are supposed to be "Haint Blue." There is a particular shade, but I guess they are going with any shade that resembles the sky. It's supposed to keep the spirits away. I've always seen it on porch ceilings. It's supposed to confuse the spirits, somehow.

Just wanted to say I am a descendent of the Merry family. My great grandfather house is till standing and is occupied. CALVIN Merry built it for his wife. My father lived there until he was about 9 when his family moved to St. Petersburg, FL. I have many relatives buried in the cemetery. I live visiting just to know I walked the same roads my ancestors did. The building that had the museum was the General store owned by the Thrashers. Loved the video thank you for sharing.

I live in Palatka and dont let this video fool you. There are alot of beautiful homes and areas unlike this. All cities have a hood, this is the other side of the tracks so to speak. Churches and communities need to pull together and make it better there. Palatka isnt that bad as a whole.
@TIMJMEANSBUSINESSКүн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your perspective, I truly appreciate your input. However, let’s be real. When you enter Palatka, one of the first things that stands out is the abundance of abandoned buildings, including the downtown area which is the heart of the city. While these structures, alongside the town's historic sites, add to its charm, they also highlight a stark reality. Palatka has numerous neglected areas, rundown homes, and dilapidated buildings, with many residents living in challenging conditions. Everything I documented reflects this truth. Palatka does have some areas catered to the middle class and wealthy, but much of the town resembles what is shown in this video.

I live about 15 miles away from Micanopy, in Keystone Heights, Fl( also a great little town). We visit Micanopy often, to visit the shops and the little cafe , which has the live music on weekends. There is so much history there. The feel of the town is warm and inviting, and I recommend everyone pay it a visit. It is a dose of Florida's southern hospitality! A real treat is the annual Micanopy Harvest Festival in October.
