My grandmother has a street named after her. It is Raven Gray. She was from Donalsonville.

Donalsonville isn't declining if you look at it as a whole.. several new businesses have came along with several more in the process of opening up including several chain restaurants.. there is a high demand for more as well.. Most people live outside Donalsonville.. The highest population is actually South of Donalsonville in the Lake Seminole area which has a Donalsonville address but that area claims to be separate from Donalsonville. Former Mayor Dan Ponder stole money from Donalsonville. At the time he held office he owned the Hardee's and several other Hardee's and declined everything from coming to Donalsonville in fear they would take money from his precious Hardee's. He sold the franchis, retired "bailed" midterm and moved to Auburn. Since Donalsonville has grown and attempting to reinvite the previous turned down businesses from Donalsonville which included Burger King who came back, McDonalds "in the works" and Taco Bell who built in Cairo after being told no by Ponder.. There are plenty of old broken buildings those of which majority remain from Hurricane Michael as Lake Seminole and Donalsonville were the hardest hit and most severe damaged in Georgia from Michael.. Many people still haven't fully recovered

Thanks for sharing your perspective! I appreciate you mentioning the growth in the area south of Donalsonville and the issues surrounding the Mayor. However, according to the latest US Census data, the town is actually in decline. The information I shared comes from federal and local sources. Thanks again for watching and for providing such valuable insights!

This is a nice small town. For it to have only 2K people, it looks to have a lot of businesses and a pretty big downtown area.

Not declining, you would not see Tractor Supply or Ameris bank if they were.

What does people moving away have to do with a Tractor Supply? I’ve been to cities that have everything yet are still in decline. Donalsonville is definitely experiencing a decline, and this information comes directly from city, state, and federal government sources. Thanks for watching!
