If you are selling the item should I pre wash it first
@BallyhooCreations12 сағат бұрын
There are 2 schools of thought: Prewashed holds up better, but takes longer (so charge more!) or don't prewash for an easier product but possibly lose repeat business. It really depends on what you're selling. For applique children's b-day shirts they don't need to last long. But for an applique MAMA sweatshirt they will want that to last for years.

Thanks do you found that titanium needles work better or last longer?
@BallyhooCreations12 сағат бұрын
I've only used them a few times and didn't notice a difference but it was an older machine that broke needles before they could get dull. (ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ) The science says titanium will last longer. But my plain ol' 75/11 Organ needles work great so I don't see the point of spending extra.

Hi what type of stabilizer would use for a light weight hand bag
@BallyhooCreations16 сағат бұрын
For lightweight fabrics you should use a medium to heavier cut-away stabilizer. And if the fabric is really drapey, it's best to adhere it to the stabilizer with adhesive spray, sticky stabilizer, or fusible stabilizer so it doesn't shift.

Question- I have the same peg board as you. Please share what hooks you are using for your stabilizer, if you don’t mind. Thank you so much for your informative video. I am new and pretty much started on towels before I knew about topper stabilizers or knock-down stitches, so I get what you are saying. Love the detergent jug idea, so clever!

I have a question you did not cover. I have this exact machine and am just getting comfortable with it. I keep getting an error message "bobbin thread insufficient." This message is not in the manual, and I can't seem to find anything on their site. I made a few designs with no problems and then this message started. I am using the threads that came with it, have rethreaded the machine, have cleaned out the threads in the bobbin area. Each time I start, it stitches 1 or 2 stitches and then stops with the above message. Any ideas? P.S. All your videos are awesome!
@BallyhooCreations2 күн бұрын
I'm not an expert on the Poolin - but I watch their Facebook support group. I think they have a defect they are trying to fix where the machine thinks the bobbin is empty when it's still half full. I hear a lot of people getting frustrated about that. My machine doesn't do that so I'm not familiar with that problem. But if you go to the Facebook or however Poolin is supporting these machines, they can either get you the software upgrade OR keep you informed about the fix.

Great information. You didn't demo a topper. You glossed over, showing the product. A topper on a towel is most important to prevent stitches from sinking into the pile. Not all designs have knockdown stitches, and not all people know how to use software to add them. The detergent bottle spray guard is a super tip! Thank you, I look forward to your videos.
@BallyhooCreations2 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I showed floating the topper in a couple of clips. Maybe it went by too fast and was easily missed? I agree it's important! I think I stressed how you either need topper or a knock-down stitch design for a good towel stitchout.

Is there a trick to putting in a different face than in the pattern? I want to make my first elf into Wednesday Addams and she needs to be a little less happy.
@BallyhooCreations2 күн бұрын
@twistknit1 Some people use the elf head design but put their own face in there. I've just relisted 12 different head designs on ballyhoocreations.com in case you want to use any of those add-ons. But I am also wanting to make a Wednesday Adams doll so if you can wait about 2 weeks, I may have a more appropriate head you can use. (◔◡◔)

On the Pig design, you said you think the stabilizer shrank and that might be causing the curling. To maybe prevent that, should one consider also pre-shrinking the stabilizer ?
@BallyhooCreations2 күн бұрын
Some people DO pre-wash their stabilizer. Since it's made of polyester, I don't bother. It could also be that my cotton towel shrank a bit more on the 2nd washing. I haven't done experiments to figure that out. If you're having issues with a lot of curling AFTER washing, then pre-shrink everything. But if it's curling as soon as it's stitched, it's either your tension is too tight or your fabric is too tight in your hoop.

My only addition to a great video would be to look for a sticky stabilizer in addition to your other suggestions. I learned to use it years ago. It’s great for towels and even Tshirts and sweatshirts.
@BallyhooCreations2 күн бұрын
I'll be covering sticky stabilizer in an upcoming t-shirt video and also used it in the Beanie video. But I've had problems with sticky stabilizer pulling out the loops on my towels when I remove it, so I no longer recommend it with pile fabrics. Have you ever had that problem or is it just me? Mine was the water activated sticky, which is probably a lot stronger than the peel-n-stick.

HI! I just bought the pattern and can not wait to make it. I am nervous about just putting the fabric on top of the stabilizer. Should I use some temporary adhesive or a little transport tape on the edges?
@BallyhooCreations4 күн бұрын
Thanks for your purchase! No need to adhere the fabric to the stabilizer. The embroidery is very light, so as long as your needle isn't dull it will stitch just fine. If there is any puckering on the face (from lightweight knits) it will plump when you stuff it. Have fun with your elves and let me know if you need anything!

Hi Lucy! I think I’m having the same issue with constant rethread error, everything seems to be threaded correctly, any advice on how you adjusted the orange plastic further?
@BallyhooCreations4 күн бұрын
If you can move the orange plastic that has the u-shaped arrow, it's not seated properly. You might need to unscrew the side panel to get a better view and put it back in correctly. The Poolin support engineers in their Facebook group can walk you through it.

The black things that go on the spool pins, you put so they look like a tree. You then use them with giant spools and it holds them steady so they can't move around at all. They will be held perfectly in place.

It jams up in the firrst 10 stitches. Cant figure out how to fix it
@BallyhooCreations6 күн бұрын
@heidibrown332 Sorry to hear you're having problems. I can only suggest re-watching the video chapters about the bobbin, and the spindle stuck warning where I show how to put the bobbin back together again and make a bobbin cushion. If those tips don't help - you should reach out to Poolin for support in case something got broken in the bobbin case when the needle broke.

looks like you found the answer in my stabilizer video, but in case anybody else is wondering - fusible stabilizer is just like regular cut-away or tear-away except you fuse it to the back of your project so it makes hooping a little easier but removal (cutting away) a little harder.

@BallyhooCreations9 күн бұрын
yes, I've had no-show mesh shrink on me. I think some brands are better than others. I talk a little about that in this video at 5:26 minutes kzbin.info/www/bejne/pISqh3lqfa2nhMk There was some no-show mesh not seen on camera that did the same thing. And you can use other tapes for holding your hoop in place, I made a video comparing all the different tapes if you want to find a tape for your needs. (●'◡'●)

Great video. I had no idea about the color coding. My dongle is white but my USB and the port are black. It's worked. But I'm having trouble with the port now 😢 it wants to read the USB. The lights flash a few times, but it won't come up. I am afraid this is going to be the more costly repair. 😭 I got by for awhile by unplugging the machine and carefully cleaning the port out. That was over 6 months ago and up until tonight, with a looming deadline order, it was working great. I suggest getting a long enough dongle, so that it can rest on your table or be hung up and around as shown in the video. Mine is short and i think it's stressed the port by hanging.
@BallyhooCreations9 күн бұрын
I'm sorry you're dealing with that. And you made an EXCELLENT point about the USB extension cord putting pressure on the port - that can lead to problems. I'll heart your comment to hopefully others will see it and be sure there's no pressure on that USB port. (●'◡'●)
