Recently changed offices and now cycle in the city. Previously the most central I got was Lewisham. The difference is stunning. Frequently find myself in groups of twenty or more from Liverpool Street to London bridge, Bermondsey and beyond. The big, safe cycle lanes clearly make cycling an option for many more people.

As You are fast enough and can handle drivers, I would suggest moving in to the main lane when to avoid the cycle lane jams and switching back to cycle lane when it is clearer.

@@themitsky it’s not really worth it using the road going this way over Vauxhall bridge. The other side is a nightmare with lane changes.
