One of the other inmates saying “Man when you want to steal a car and go fast play a video game” I usually don’t really like all the time on screens but is not a bad idea at this point. 🤷‍♀️

I think justice was done eventually with the reduced sentences but God help any of these kids if they screw up again.

It was a awful crime I understand there must be harsh punishment but I’m not convinced a 15 year old should be considered a adult mentally and held accountable legally. It’s a tough one deterrent needs to be severe parole should be on the table if the child show’s compliance after say 20 years.

What I don’t understand despite the extreme sentences for murder in the United States the gang culture is thriving and people are walking around with machine guns in the cities I would be afraid to spit on the sidewalk these sentences even the death penalty doesn’t seem to deter this culture it’s very disturbing.

hats off to the guy doing inspections, rather than be. prick, and. yell in fake anger, he explains to the guy how to sweep under a bed. ten he explains to all what u can not have, without yelling.. He probably has a ton of respect from the inmates, and the guy with the tooth brush in his mouth should have been smacked but he was sensitive to the person. These are kids, and he doing what a father would do, raise his children. these military guys must leave this prison as a better man because of the guy doing the inspections.

@lancedalton6792 - Thank you for watching and pointing these things out. It's amazing how a little respect can go a long way inside places like this. Usually, if you show respect--even in very difficult circumstances--eventually kids will return the favor. It's not easy for anyone involved, but like you, we say hats off to those who go above and beyond to help make a difference. Thanks again for your comments!

I'm disturbed by this documentary. I'll say right up front I am against juvenile prisons regardless of an IQ. In fact i oppose punishing people as a form of justice. The only justice i see as justice is to keep dangerous people in a humane setting where reabilitsting them is the goal. And if the dont reabiliste they stay in anhumane setting where they cannot cause more harm to others. I find it very strange that this little white boy was given such concern when i cannot see any real difference between him and his pwers. Yes he is a little awkward but he hardly apesrs ro have an IQ of 42. These are a few examples that sufgest his iq was miscalcuated. After being relocated to a new facility for developmental challenges, the counselor returns 18 months later. They reminisce about his arrival, mentioning the playground he initially favored. Surprisingly, he corrects her, identifying a different area. This interaction raises questions about his cognitive abilities and the accuracy of his IQ assessment. It's crucial to consider the possibility of an inaccurate IQ test administered during a time of significant trauma and stress, factors that can profoundly impact performance. Despite an IQ score suggesting limitations, his articulate speech, grasp of surroundings, and social interactions with staff challenge traditional perceptions. Moreover, addressing the alleged incident involving a withheld pork chop, it seems improbable that such a response could be driven by a developmental disability. While acknowledging the complexities and legal implications, it's essential to foster discussions on the potential for misjudgment and the need for reevaluation as this could be a serious sadety issue.

Thank you for this story. There really was a light at the end for these kids turned into men and achieving success together. Congrats to Miles and Colt. I hope the other boys featured in this film were able to leave prison, and achieve personal success.

The sooner those kids pick up a Bible in there, the better chances they will have for survival while their in, and breaking the recidivism rate in staying out when they get out. I too started at 15 years old and Jails and Prison didn't stop until I was 44. The Prison System itself has little to nothing to offer. It's a system of manipulation and finances. I don't have the answers for the State and Federal Prisons, but I can guarantee total Freedom through Faith in Yeshuah Ha'Machiach/Jesus and Following Yah's/God's Sabbath, Commandments and Feast Days Folks 🙏 You can find it in All of those Prisons. Today I have a License/Badge to go back into these Prisons to teach exactly that. It hurts to watch this vid as so many memories come back, I'm glad you guys made it though. We All need to Pray for these Kids. Heck, I Pray for All of us as well. God's Blessings and Shalom Ya'll...😊

He is out now. He helped a lot of people while in Prison, especially young ones like him, as a kind of mentor. They kept sharing a cell with him and then they would be released , and he would get another one. That would be very hard to deal with.

I feel bad for the kids that commit one bad crime not really taking the moment before they did the crime to say to themselves hey I can go do this and end up locked up for the rest of my life and I’m going to be saying good bye to my family my friends possibly my kids if they have them and living a life in a small place and not even getting to have the freedom to do simple things in life anymore like eating what you want when you want or wearing what you want even doing mundane things that we all dislike like getting up on a dark and cold Monday morning to go to work after you clean the snow off of your car yet more often then not these kids act on childish impulse to do whatever crime and a lot of time through a big chunk of your life in prison if not all of it and it’s like anything in life it can and will create a cycle and these cycles can span multiple generations
