Extremely low quality.. Mine Yamabisi 2013 model 5HP four stroke, axle snapped after 1 ride in salt water ( Stood 1 month on land and the acle broke right off.. This happend to all the 5HP's they sold in norway that year.. Extremely bad..

The problem with things that you get from Alabama a lot of your nuts and bolts are inferior and low grade you'll be replacing parts

This is a very tough boat. In the 60's a family friend had this exact boat. he ran it with an extended tiller and sat on the floor, he had the 10 HP Johnsen. he was in the ocean at least a 1/4 mile out, he had a passenger in the front. He drove straight into a black can buoy (channel marker) at top speed (passenger blocked his view)! It pushed the bow back at least a foot, did not overturn, did not leak! Meyers is tough. Yeah, he bought another one.

no motor on our boat yet, but looking at the 18hp Hangkai or if I can find one, they supposedly just came out with a 25hp which my boat is rated for. 14' vhull and there is a lake with 10.5hp restrictions near me. Thinking if this little motor as cheap as it is, would be worth it for that lake so I'm not just trolling motor only?

hey man , like the video, woould love to see the break down of jackets.im in real muddy swampy salty sandy area and ive found than running a length of 60-120# monofilament fishing line up the pee hole will get crap out some times while engine is running. ive got a poor honda that should of died a long time ago and was considering putting an iv screw port on the tell tale line through cal fitting to accommodate a syringe with some baking soda and vinegar to blast up in there when theres mud dobber etc while on the water also if fishing line doesnt work.

The transom should be marine grade plywood, if you are concerned about it lasting. The silicone will wear off causing the transom to become a sponge. Otherwise very good work.

IMO You don't specifically eed a marine battery vs automotive battery - you do need a battery that has enough cranking amps, and for old engines, you want maintenance batteries so you can top up the electrolyte. Marine specific designations have thicker plates to last longer and be more vibration proof on the water, which isn't needed in the garage!

AGAIN! One fantastic video! Thanks. BUT,,,, You didn't compare props!? You could have checked the top RPM on both motors, with said (same) prop.? AND,,,, you definitely could have told us the difference of price between the Yamabisi & Tohatsu? I'd like to know, Where are the Tohatsu motors made,,, Japan? Is there a warehouse full of parts here, in the USA?
