I am only getting 13. X volts. Does it mean the valve is bad?

Hi. Thanks for this. I am looking at a unit is only 3 years old and was freezing in cold weather. Otherwise works fine winter and summer. I shorted the defrost board test pins and nothing happened. I got a new one and installed it and the new one is also not responding to shorting the test pins. Is this a wiring issue? Something else?

Hello, I have a problem with the 2nd fault of the programmable manual wired train thermostat, type 1577.
@wayne56077 күн бұрын
Good video. How about just flipping the switch on the thermostat from HP to CONV and just run it on het strips only until you get your board, then flip it back to Heat Pump?

you didn't try the smack and whack it see if it works? Come on now you gotta let the homeowner hear you beating and banging so they feel like you tried. Also you should check gas pressures after you verify 24v is being applied to the gas valve or first as long as you know there is gas pressure skipping steps will cost you a lot of unnecessary work.

Thanks for this video. I had a tech out two weeks ago and he did a thorough diagnosis including using an inspection camera to check the heat exchanger. I have a Gibson/Nordyne 80% 5-burner. He also determined that the furnace is about 18 years old. 😮 Fortunately he deemed it ok, and he determined the inducer motor needed replacing. (He also took apart the vent glue and checked it for blockage.) A few days later after the part was obtained he replaced it, checked the vacuum, and all was good. Flames also looks good (or at least nothing like you showed 😅). The repair was flat price and a bit more than I wanted to pay but in the end it needed to be done. The service call and diagnosis was well worth the fee. Question (and maybe others asked here) , why in this furnace with flames rolling out, didn’t the rollout switch trip?

Looks easy when u have the right tools and gadgets. Especially that plastic hose connected to that digital machine. Did u put plumbers puddy and plumbers tape on the pipes ?

It takes 8hrs to replace a cracked heat exchanger? Wow that must be a h!#@ of a Process. We have the same problem but it's not cracked but needs to be cleaned the unit itself is 13 yrs old the technician recommended that we should just go ahead and get a new Furnace because of the age something else will most likely break down pretty soon. Do You Agree with THAT?

You really need to check the valve voltage under load.

I run my own company for many years now if I were like most other people out there I could have made so much money by now. I try so hard not to sell people things they don't need. I've actually had customers who were ready to buy a brand new unit and I told him they didn't need one LOL I don't know too many other companies not to Pat myself on the back that would do that

Thank you. I’m a new tech and I was just trying to find a basic video on start up and really just how to run an ambient air CO check? I wanted to make sure my portable propane heater wasn’t emitting too much CO, I think I was able to piece it together between your video and the manual. Thanks again.

The video is excellent. The only point that I would add is that you should almost always use pipe wrenches in pairs. Tightening or loosening a pipe with only one wrench puts a lot of stress on the rest of the piping system and equipment.

Fun fun happy joy. Thanks for showing this. I am replacing my heat exchanger on my comfortmaker. This one is a 96% unit. So I need to also disconnect the backing plate that connects both the primary and secondary heat exchangers together and use high temp gasket sealant when I reconnect them to the backing plate. Love these videos.

You keep saying watch the flame and then say “WoW”. Not once do you say what you’re actually looking for. Low flame ? Blue Flame ? High Flame ? Orange Flame ? Smokey Flame ? Just saying “wow” doesn’t help

I'm kind of surprised the pressure switch didn't shut it down. The inducer pulls that much air? Interesting stuff. I've also thought that seeing soot in the vent was an early sign of failure.

You might have mentioned to first turn off electrical power to the furnace before you remove the igniter.

Capacitors in parallel add their values. Capacitors in series are not added together, but their value will be less than the largest capacitor. It appears you hooked them in parallel, and thus your meter showed the correct value for parallel & not series.

Don't you have to check the pressure so it doesn't blow up? What about the risk of carbon monoxide leaking if not done properly?
@noredlac-4hvacАй бұрын
First-Channel-Lock is a name brand. the proper name is tongue and grove pliers. but I know what you meant. Second this is not the proper tool to use. Manny techs do not know which direction to hold the pliers for the proper grip. Even if you hold the tool in the proper direction eventually you will round out the corners of the brass fitting. Use an adjustable wrench or the proper size wrench. Third, the 3.5"wg is the valve recommended setting. Look at the manufacturer data tag for the proper manifold pressure setting.
