This video helped me a ton, so thank you so much for taking the time to record and upload this! I have a different furnace and got my inducer motor through supplyhouse. The gasket for my motor was backordered until the end of January, so I had to use Permatex Red RTV silicone gasket maker - hope it holds up. Chicago winters are no fun without heat!

you’re not paying for just the part your paying for the convenience of having an entire shop full of parts and tools drive to you, the knowledge of the technician, the office that booked your appointment, the software used to store your info, the gas to drive there, insurance costs, registration, warranty, labor and more. we forget that these companies are a whole businesses that needs to make profit in order to exist.

@extremedrew2 Exactly. But why pay $1000 in labor when the tech only gets $30 an hour anyway? It isn't rocket science! Especially when most of them will lie by saying the job takes longer than it should, so they CAN charge more.

Was it FOUR Seasons? They are crooks. Charged me $950 for a new inducer motor. It took them 10 minutes. And the problem was a blown roll out switch, which I replaced myself. Found online four 40$ for a pair. I bought a new inducer motor on Amazon for $125. It's like my older one but has plastic parts. I don't think it will last longer than 3 years. Ever since I got central air hooked into my furnace I'm on my 2nd motor in 5 years. But 125$ compared to a new 1000 furnace is worth it, especially since everything else seems to working fine. Since then, I've repaired my washing machine and dryer for a couple of 40$ plastic parts. I'm not trusting ANY repair "Professionals".
