Thanks for doing a tutorial on this. One thing I might mention, since I'm making these myself right now, is that if you can put the high-number side up for the shell molds, it makes getting the pretty side to be the high number a lot easier. Sadly, I'm realizing this a little late in the process, and I probably need to make some new silicone molds.

Ive found that using wooden stir sticks adds air because wood holds on to air. I invested in a pressure pot and it's been amazing.

An issue I have had with my molds, and I will grant they aren’t the greatest ones, is that when I use flame to try and pop the bubbles, it seems to almost bond some of the flashing at the end when I open up and then I can’t remove that from the mold without pulling out chunks. Is that more about the mold than anything else? Or how might you combat that?

I have been using a vacuum chamber and even though it's better than nothing, I still get bubbles in my projects. I just received a pressure pot as a gift and I have a question. When you put in a mold with resin that cures in for example 12 hours, how long does the pressure pot needs to be running? Thank you for your help!

They don’t ship to the US and it says they’re out of stock for the UK. Looking at other reviews it seems like this company hasn’t really been active for years. Is Terra form even in production still?

Thank you for the tips! I feel like I might be able to make better dice now but question... this may seem like a silly question but are a pressure pot & vacuum chamber the same thing? A friend told me to get a vacuum chamber but idk if its the same as the pressure pot and I was looking into it and before I spent slightly over $130 I wanna make sure

I love all the information given I appreciate the honesty on the pros and cons and I learned so much from your video! Keep up the good work you have a new follower now 😅. I’m new and never made dice but sometime this week I’ll give it a try following you advise without a pressure pot. Fingers crossed

new resin user, here! Very fun video, gave me lots of cool ideas to try. Tho I think I made a bit of a silly mistake. I wanted to try the petri effect with a purple and a silver.... so I got a silver *mixative* hoping it would work the same as the inks. Completely overwhelmed the purple even though I dropped the purple first, somehow. Honestly I am struggling to even find what mixatives get used for in resin, so any little tips are helpful both for using that and finding a better way to get the silver effect.

Any tips for putting the geode insert safely into the shell? I have only done one set so far and used an older mold so I wouldn't accidentally scratch up the mold when putting the geode in...those edges be sharp! (I did put some resin around the sharp edges before inserting - wondering if it's just practice?)

As far as putting on the top part of the mold, I have heard some people say not to press down at all. Do you have have a reason for pressing down other than making sure the mold is closed?

It’s making me crazy that your not using the spilt mica and the cap trick and sticking something in the alcohol will contaminate it. Love the video…I’ve been doing this fir a few years but couldn’t find anyone else doing it.

I cant stand this resin. It yellows for me so quickly vs anything else I've used. I had a bottle I kept in the garage for a few months in a closed cardboard box, and Part B was so yellow the next time I pulled it out that it ruined being able to use it for anything that didn't require opaque level coloring. Almost every review video I see of it that isn't showing brand new bottles, the Part B is already heavily yellowing.

It's a piece of acrylic it can come off but it's a pretty tight fit if you would like us to send it without the acrylic popped in place happy to do so!

@@DruidDice hmm I feel like that might make it to easy to lose the ball bearing I'd love to see one with a screw off top but I still love the concept of this and will still probably buy it anyways in my quest to have the weirdest dice collection
@DruidDice5 ай бұрын
@@lilsweetbabyraysbbqsauce1994 it's an extremely tight snap fit and there is a small groove that pops into. Trying to get it off after it's been popped on almost always results in breaking the acrylic itself! Could definitely do a screw style mechanism for you we do customs all the time!

To be honest, I've seen a lot of other creators use cheaper moulds with less bubbles outside a pressure pot. A thicker mould may not be best for non pressure pot application because it's so thick and hard to work the bubbles out.

Beautiful set! I was wondering how you can minimize raised faces on the one face? No matter how much pressure I put on the cap when closing the mold, I continue to get raised faces on a few dice. I've been trying to fix when polishing, but I've over-polished the adjacent faces, creating a little lip. Thank you!

A base, a solvent and a pigment. Those 3 things are needed to get ink or paint. By definition acrual solid pigments are just oxidation on minerals (rocks near water) we scrape off them. So you're not making an ink because per example gauche paint? Waterborne and based. Acrylics are usually waterbased but never born. Meaning besides the fact your playing with youre hands in metal flakes of mica 👍 very smart. Youre still letting it bond initially on water. Now its waterborne. Meaning my meanwhile just waterbased paint? The water evaporates, acrylates bond and you can throw whole buckets at it. Its solid. Yours also sure os sped up drying because of the solvent i use that trick too. But only when thenwater is gone its truly gonna set yet what your cobbling together if if sees water it will start dripping again and people keep copying this just how you did off of someone else and none of you have an idea what you're doing or the basics of the minimal chemistry behind it.
