That bit where the friends all go to the convenience store together was so beautiful and I'm grateful it was included. Those were some favorite moments in my own adolescence- hanging out with big, loud, messy groups of my peers. Jocks and "rejects" and class clowns and fashion girlies alike. Loved seeing Ken get moments of connection like that after yearning for friendship so intensely at the start of the series. 😢❤ Came for fights with demons and aliens, but stayed for the drama of teenage emotion. Such a great series.

Picked up the manga after a mangatuber recommended it and managed to sell me on Gachiakuta, earlier. And well, I really enjoyed Gachiakuta, so of course I was gonna check out Dandadan. I honestly don't know which manga has better art. Both Dandadan and Gachiakuta have incredible detail in their art. I guess you could say Dandadan's art is a lot cleaner. Gachiakuta tends to have very messy and sketchy looking art. Before that youtube video, I was on the fence about whether or not I should read Dandadan. I have the mangaplus app and saw it on there, I saw that it was getting weekly updates. I just didn't know enough about it and the thumbnail wasn't really grabbing me. Then I see this video of this mangatuber absolutely gushing about it. Without any spoilers, he managed to articulate what is so great about the series. How even though the events that happen and the plot are pure chaos and insanity, the story revolves around its characters. Similar to how Chainsawman operates. That's how you can tell a compelling story even when the narrative spirals off into crazytown (end of Chainsawman part 1 comes to mind) I've been reading the manga for years now, I even got my hubby to read it after begging him to check it out for months. We were both absolutely thrilled when the official anime announcement happened. (There had been quite a few fake ones before that so it was a relief to finally have the real, official tweet) The anime is a god damn masterpiece. Every episode manages to improve on the source material in some way, it really was a treat. I feel you on the nostalgia of going back into the early arcs when we barely had much of a cast. When the scale and stakes were so low. What made me taken aback was how I'd forgotten that alot of these characters that I love, dearly, were introduced as antagonists. I was like "oooooh yeah, I completely forgot you're supposed to hate Aira, here." Looks like Gachiakuta is getting an anime. Definitely check that out when you get the chance. It's also a master class in world building, crafting a unique power system, writing good characters, and having insanely good art week to week.

After just watching that battle, I was mentally exhausted. Seeing those two in the hallway, locked in an embrace, was such a relief. Knowing they had won that round and needing a second to breathe it all in... ...I was there... ....I felt that relief and... ...while I wasn't naked in front of my high school classmates, the feeling that I had afterwards, of wanting to share this one scene with everyone, felt like a white hot element burning in my heart. I fully understand why you had to make this video after that scene and why the conversation is so Ding Dang DanDaDiddly difficult to have around others. (Liked and subscribed! Great video, my good man!)

you touched on him briefly, and how realistically most of the audience would be like him in a bad situation, but I do actually have to give major props to my boy Kinta. it's not even glazing to say that he's probably the bravest member of the cast. he's kinda dumb, bad at reading the room, and kinda self-centered, but he also risked his life willingly multiple times in a row during the space globalists arc. yeah, it was kind of selfishly motivated, but he still stood on business.

WAIT THEY’RE LITERALLY ME??? My journey to realizing I was non-binary started with me getting bored with typical masculine hair styles, and just deciding to grow my hair out to my shoulders. It progressed into feeling the same way about clothing and just not really feeling like I am a man or a woman, though I do feel more inclined to liking more feminine clothing/hair styles. I’ve had a lot of very important people helping me through my journey, both inadvertently (calling me “girl” or asking if I want my hair braided without regard for my biological sex) or directly (just talking to people about it). Seeing someone else having very similar experiences to me is genuinely incredible, thank you so much for making this video!

I feel like those arcs is a gigantic, long death flag... for some reason I think someone might die and the author won't mind doing so, he's a Fujimoto disciple and looking at Fuji's backstory, it never had a ""good"" ending

You realize we know nothing about Okarun/Ken. After 175 chapter. We never seen his room or family. Are his parents alive? Are they dead? Did he have a cat growing up. If I miss his back story beside him wanting to get abducted, please tell me. Who is this kid.

Men's fashion is definitely one of the few areas where the "retvrn to tradition" argument actually holds some water. Men centuries ago dressed so much better than us. Even suits/overcoats in the 19th century were drip af. But then the 20th century came along and all men in the west just unilaterally decided to be boring and tasteless, and we've hardly improved since then either. Short hair cuts, button downs, t shirts, jeans, hoodies, khakis, polo shirts, and baseball caps as far as the eye can see.

I thought I wasn't gonna like this video based on the title, but I was in as soon as you said "I hate gender" I understood what this was about. Now it's not that bad for me cause I don't care about fashion specifically, but I sincerely don't care about my own gender and wish it didn't matter in many other context. I just don't care for being a male cause I think/hope it shouldn't matter to me.

I almost didn't write this but I still want to say how happy I am to have stumbled upon this video. It feels incredible to hear someone else saying the exact things I think and say about gender, and identify in nearly identical ways. Up until this point, I felt really alone in my experience of NB/gender. It's nice to know I'm not, even if I figured statistically there would be no way that I would. I really appreciate this video <3

all your favorite musicians actors and artists are scum. guess what though huge amounts of ppl you’ll never know about who aren’t famous? are also human and are also fuct up. not to excuse it but the exploration is kinda goofy bc bc what about the rest of humanity too. why is it only in context to heroes of art. how about your parents neighbors your bishop or yoga teacher etc

I mean, just look at reinassance era [rich] men: dresses, fancy gowns, tons of accessories, vibrant colours, gemstones everywhere... All things that today would be thought of as "effeminate", and why? There's not really a good reason. It's all enforced through shame and disgust, but once you break free from the shame, you get to dress... just about however the flying fk you want.

Like you and many others, after watching the anime, jumped to the manga. I haven’t gotten into the weekly schedule yet; still reading the collected volumes. They are such easy read. As for his art, I love his backgrounds the most - the destruction of the house/cities and such; so much details.

So real. Watched the first ep of the anime, got IMMEDIATELY hooked and binged the manga. I remember being up at like 12am and going "alr one more chapter and I'm going to sleep" and before I knew it, it'd be 2am and then I'd have to force myself to sleep since I have school.
