My true issue with the pedo material in this anime. Even if it is short and puts it in a disheartening light. It is still pedo material and real pedos. The problem with Rudeus is that his perverted nature is never treated as a flaw, it’s treated as very comedic. People like Light while being a terrible person is still liked since he’s actions are treated as being terrible whereas when Rudeus touched Eris while she was sleeping, it’s not treated as disgusting or reprehensible but just a funny moment. The author even said that he’s perverted nature would never change, in other words people saying that he will actually develop and stop being a pervert are liars. I read through it and while he does get development, he’s pedophilia is never questioned at all and it’s treated as a joke.
